The Huskers would have been favored in each game against your team during the last 5 years. lol

I don't want your coach. He's not ready for major cfb
Buddy, your favorite team hasn’t won more than 5 games since 2016… And you’ve only won 5 games one time since 2016. Your program is a dumpster fire.

Touch some grass.

Amazingly…this may not be true. I’m shocked as I look at their recruiting classes. Our 2022 class was better than theirs (Go Cyclones), but this was the first class I could find outside of the top 25. Further speaks to how truly bad Frost was I guess.
Recruiting ranking is not everything. Have you looked at Texas recruits over the years, and how have they done. Have you looked at their income, their facilities.

And they are not even close to as bad of a situation that Nebraska is. Nebby might as well be Siberia.

Overheard at a middle-school football game in the stands today.

Guy next row over is a middle aged Nebby fan and talking to an older lady.

"We're playing Oklahoma this weekend, I'm going to the game. They're basically our rival -- it's a rivalry game."

:D:p:oops::rolleyes:o_O:D
Yup - and the Globetrotters are the Washington Generals’ rival…

No - you’re absolutely right…and we’re making the same point. Talent but no direction or motivation.

In 2011, Nebraska welcomed the Ohio State Buckeyes to Lincoln for the first time. This was their first game against Ohio State as members of the Big Ten Conference, the two programs having met in 1955 and 1956 for a two-game series in Columbus. The Buckeyes won both contests, 28-20 and 34-7.

Nebraska ended up down 6-27 with 10:53 left in the third quarter. Some of the crowd left, thinking it was over, but Nebraska scored four unanswered touchdowns to win the game 34-27.

After the game, Pelini was secretly recorded going off about the fans who left early --

"Our crowd. What a bunch of ******* fair-weather *******—they can all kiss my ass out the ******* door. 'Cause the day is ******* coming now. We'll see what they can do when I'm ******* gone. I'm so ******* pissed off."

Seems rather prophetic now, doesn't it?

I think Nebraska has a Curse of Pelini the same way the Red Sox had a Curse of the Bambino.
Was at the 9-7 game in Lincoln...their fans were leaving with several minutes to go when they had the ball, down by 2. The worst and least knowledgeable fan base out there.

I did a little research on the scarlet man and here’s what I found.

It’s January 1998. @Scarlet Twister is celebrating Nebraska’s national title* by watching the premier of Dawson’s Creek at a friend’s house. He puts on his Husker starter jacket, hops in his Mercury Tracer and takes off for the friend’s house during a blizzard. While switching out his Celine Dion CD for his Hanson one is his car discman with tape adapter, he loses control of the vehicle and gets stuck in a ditch. He’s frozen in time there until just recently. Scott Frost isn’t the QB, he’s now the coach! “I’m sure the Huskers have rattled off at least a dozen titles since I’ve been away” he says. He turns on the TV and watches his team lose to Northwestern (what????) in Ireland (whaaaatttt?). Two weeks later they lose at home to Georgia Southern and the legend of Scott Frost is no more.

Looking for a new coach he stumbles upon an article saying Iowa State has a good coach and the Huskers might want him. Researching it a little further he finds himself on this wonderful site. Not believing that the Huskers could possibly be as bad as they really are and the Cyclones could be as good as they really are, he fires up an old computer in the Fairbury library and graces us with his presence to set the record straight.

Hello @Scarlet Twister! Welcome to 2022!

Nebby fans love to complain that CMC is only 10 games above .500 at ISU, while in the same timeframe they are close to 20 games below .500.

Not to mention our trajectory is in the exact opposite direction than theirs. Poor Nebby.
Let’s add that they play in the mighty mighty big ten west while accomplishing that.

I 100% disagree with this take.

What made Nebraska so dominant in the 1990s and earlier are inherent advantages they will never have again: academic standards that are less strict than most community colleges (partial qualifiers); unlimited roster space and an attitude where players would rather sit on the Nebraska bench for 4 years than play anywhere else (scholarship limits); unparalleled S&C program (steroids), and regional dominance simply because every other program within hundreds of miles of them sucked - and because of that being put on television regularly, so everyone nationally knew who they were.

Nebraska is never getting those advantages over everyone else ever again. Which means that if they were going to build a respectable program there, they'd have to do it like everyone else. Is that possible? Of course... or, it would be, if the members of the cult of kNU were actually sane - which they're not. The first thing they'd have to get through their idiotic heads is it's not the 1980s anymore and they're never going to be an OSU-type program ever again - that ship has sailed. They simply don't have those advantages anymore. The best they'd ever be able to do is be a Wisconsin-like, Iowa-like, or MSU-like school, but that will never be good enough for that cult, not when they all think they should be the Nebraska from the 1980s. Second, even if they did accept that, they simply don't have the patience to build the program. Nebraska is at rock bottom and they don't even know it because there's no acceptance of reality there.

Until the kNU cult finally accepts what they really are, they will continue to be an irrelevant program.
The main point was Nebraska has financial advantages that schools around them don't have which you didn't address. Their budget is much bigger than all the schools around them and that's while they are at rock bottom. That is potential for the right coach. You can pay your coaches more and with the NIL your players also.

They’ve had literally all of those things since their last national title though. So NIL is going to be the thing that changes them? While also playing in a conference that’s losing divisions so they’re no longer in the Big 10 West? I mean, good luck with that.

I know you folks have difficulty thinking critically, but I think a new paradigm is born or at least one that resembles Clemson before their offense became garbage.

I want you to keep your coach and his staff.
Who do you realistically think Nebraska can get? Serious question.

No ****, Nebraska was favored against NW and Georgia Southern too. Excuse us if we take actual success over your fanbases bloated sense of significance in the football world.

You step right in the steaming pile of **** that is kNu football and can't even smell it for what it is.

But glad you are back, really looking forward to your insight and analysis during the coaching search.

You wanted Hoiberg and fawned over him and then he did way worse at Nebraska than Iowa St and then we got a new coach and already back in the Sweet 16. At some point you just gotta to say, what the hell is wrong at Nebraska? Trev is a slickster, sharp as a whip but he's a used car salesman, a slickster, CMC will see right through that. And Nebraska is probably one of the biggest anti fan teams in the country, that means for you critical thinkers out there, we are tuning in to see you lose and there is a ton of us. Yes I knew the Northwestern game was the peak, we took it too far and now our golden goose is gone(Frost). And Trev is not going to mess this next one up, he is too sharp to, but it wont be CMC but it will be a CMC clone.
