Campbell can go to the NFL anytime he wants to (if he wants to).

He's going to get a call from South Bend, Columbus, Ann Arbor, or State College sooner or later.

ND = well considering how their season is going they might be in the market soon...
OSU = Day could go to the NFL
MI = Harbaugh could still wear out his welcome/could go back to the NFL
PSU = Franklin is a good coach but he's been up and down and never won a championship there

He doesn't need to make a lateral move to Lincoln.
Yes. 100% agreed.

SIAP. but this actually sounds like a way they might go:

I don't believe this for a second but oh God please let this be true. I wasn't sure what could be a bigger circus then the Frost era but this would be truly next level.

The safe word with BF and I is ….. Punt.

Gruden to kNebby makes so much sense in the most nonsensical way imaginable.

Don’t believe for a minute there are multiple sources for any candidate, let alone CMC. That doesn’t mean there couldn’t or wouldn’t be interest, but that’s way too premature to have sources on yet.
But what does Nebby offer that FSU, Tenn, Mich St, Arkansas, Cleveland Browns, NY Jets, Detroit Lions, et al. do not?

All of these I believe had serious interest and/or possibly floated offers to CMC. And I'm probably missing some. But Campbell didn't pursue them further.

Northwestern? Minnesota? Michigan State? C'mon man.

Michigan, Ohio State, maybe Penn State.
With the amount of money those schools will have, yeah. They will all pay 10m before long.

He hasn't had a job that fit him like Nebraska offer him though. You're ******* nuts if you think he wouldn't leave Ames for the right amount of money. Nebraska is pretty similar to the Wisconsin job whether you believe it or not.
How does the Nebraska job fit him better than any of the others? Mich St's much closer to the prime B1G recruiting areas.

And BTW, you may have noticed how the Ohio/Mich/Penn kids aren't flocking to Nebraska to play football. Why would they? Nebraska's an island in the B1G and they can stay closer to home and have more perks at say, OSU, Mich, MSU, Penn St, and other B1G schools.

Kids in the Midwest, outside of Nebraska, don't grow up dreaming of being a "Husker".

Wazzu bonk aside, I think Jim Leonhard is going to be a great head coach. He'd be my first call if Campbell left for ND.
I think the ND guy will get 3 seasons though. 2 for sure.

Nebraska would be wise to poach the Kansas coach (b/c who would not want to leave KU), or get a young up and comer from the Mountain West or the MAC

The only people saying Nebraska fans are the best in the country are not paying attention any more. They are completely delusional. I lived in Nebraska forever and they legitimately believed that they were going to win 9 games this year. They believe that a Lane Kiffen or Urban Meyer will be their new head coach. From everything we know about Campbell, I don't see him making the decision to go to Nebraska. I would be shocked and frankly really disappointed.
