Possibly the most impressive gut check of the Campbell era. Maybe any era.
Could go down as a record drive in college football history, (6) 3rd down conversions if you count the touchdown. Takes incredible patience to do that.
I'll put turning OU over on downs to end the game after what was also a great TD drive, and the TCU interception in 2017 over it.
A couple of drives vs. Oregon were not as long yardage but similar.
But still love it vs. what's traditionally one of the better defenses out there.
11 minutes and 49 seconds of making Iowa play defense. They were gassed.
That felt like Fiesta Bowl vs Oregon kind of drive. Soul sucking
It was a beautifully filthy. That is one of those break your spirits drive, that Bama runs on their opponents

Did Iowa State out Iowa, Iowa on that drive?
Yes. That's exactly what they do to us. When they really, really need points, they get them.
Our offensive line was dominant. This was the first time in the MC era when ISU had a better O-line than Iowa. Miller is an absolute dominating beast. Iowa has no tackles even close to him in ability and on field performance.
Iowa State, of course, needed the TD to take the lead. But to suck basically 3/4 of a quarter in time off the clock is the HUGE deal with it.
PS - Over 4 hours later, I realize my bad math. Make that almost 80%

Well, there certainly hasn’t been a longer one in college football history.
Iowa has elite linebackers and a very good secondary with a competent to good D line. To drive on that unit in such a fashion is amazing and speaks to the progress of the O-line.
Just the whole thing.....they were inches away from going up 14-3 and the game being essentially over.
12 game minutes of superb execution later, they had a gassed defense and their hopes rested with a struggling offense.
you're putting a defense + offense over a drive? seems like a wrong comparison.
not to mention making iowa fumble on the 1 after a blocked punt on the road is way bigger than those others.
