I was tired of staring at Jack Trice in black and white, so I tried to do something about it.

I used the Minnesota photo that I found in 2018, which is absolutely awful quality, but maybe the most meaningful. Other pictures would be much easier to colorize. Maybe I'll do those another time ... hmm?

I still can't believe a major movie of Jack's Story has not been made. I think it is just as good, just as inspiring, just as dramatic, as Rudy, or Remember the Titans, etc. if not more.

In the right hands, I think it could be.

What I would hate is if it were to be done and it was low-budget, G rated crap.

Telling the whole story would entail delving into some pretty ugly stuff of that time. But you'd need to include all of that to truly appreciate the man and his life, so...

Off topic a little, but I am proud of those who decided to honor this man by naming a stadium after him. Jack Trice didn't donate millions of dollars to the college, and he didn't win the Heisman.

All Jack Trice did was give it everything he had when he stepped on the football field.

I think the poor quality makes this great. Life or Art?

Definitely a bit of educated guessing in there. Pretty sure of everything tho.

It would be cool to be able to get a print of this to frame and throw on a wall in my office.

Off the cuff, I would imagine the print wouldn't be any bigger than a postcard. Maybe.

The famous ones of Jack by himself or with his teammates would be much easier. File quality is much higher. Same goes for the original photo I have of him in the Simpson game.

Sports movie producers probably lean towards the happier endings not tragedies :(

That's why the football aspect needs to be secondary. Make it more true crime-style. Thinking of a movie like Fruitvale Station.

Scott Sipker has talked about doing one about Jack Trice now that he is done with the Niles Kinnick one.

This is merely my Heart Felt Opinions/Comments.

We know Jack Trice suffered his fatal injuries during a ‘rolling block’ which indicates an offensive play. This image appears to me that Jack Trice is partaking on a defensive snap.

I thank you Kagavi for sharing!!

Am I mistaken that at one recent time ago; rights were obtained for a movie on Jack trice?

Yeah. It will take a while to finish though. I know they've done a good amount of work already.

Many stories stated it happened when playing defense, but it was definitely offense. A rolling block wouldn't necessarily mean offense though.

There's the faintest suggestion of stripes on the jersey on the player with the ball. I think it's likely Jack was running an offensive play where he pulled to the left from his RT position, sealed off the DE and is now headed towards the play to look for more blocking opportunities.

But it could be Minnesota and defense.

Might be thinking about the Jack Trice script that was written by ISU alum John Arends. Not sure if there has been any movement on that project.

Does anyone know anything about this book about Jack Trice? The Idealist:Jack Trice and the Battle for a Forgotten Football Legacy by Jonathan Gelber appears to have a 9/27/22 release date and a forward by Seneca. Have seen availability from Amazon and Target and there are probably others.
