In 15 years, when viewership of CFB is down 20% nationally, will they even care? The overall pot may shrink, but those at the top will find a way to get paid.Conference realignment, transfer portal, NIL are all bad for the sport and fans IMO.
I'll agree this is good news for ISU/Big 12, but it just feels weird. Can't wait for those Rutgers vs USC matchups.
Every big brand joining the B1G and SEC is not good if you don't have a place at the table, and it seems unlikely ISU has a place at that table.
I think that college sports could all be regionalized the way that wrestling and baseball are now. Only a few pockets of the country will actually care.In 15 years, when viewership of CFB is down 20% nationally, will they even care? Iowa and Ohio State only play once every other decade or some ****, so USC/UCLA v Rutgers would just be like a random, non-con home and home.I'll agree this is good news for ISU/Big 12, but it just feels weird. Can't wait for those Rutgers vs USC matchups.
True, but this is different. I never really believed that we would get to a college "pro" league, but if this happens you only need a few more pieces to fall in place and you've got it. SEC and B1G break off from the rest of the schools and suddenly everyone else is a 2nd class citizen. Not good for the sport, but then neither were the last 157 rounds of realignment. Happy to be spectating on this one.
I'd think you'd go after Oregon, Washington, either Arizaon/ASU, and maybe which ever one has a good consistent ratings.
Are we sure the opposite doesn’t happen and Big 12 schools get poached?Would be great for the Big 12, as we could grab 4 and go to 16. My bet is that, if this is anything, it's political posturing to get a better deal for themselves for staying.
That scheduling is being fixed in the next year or so, wont be as infrequent, should be every 3/4 years at the worstIowa and Ohio State only play once every other decade or some ****, so USC/UCLA v Rutgers would just be like a random, non-con home and home.
Its this for me. It seems odd UCLA would be allowed to leave Cal behind. And if you're picking up private schools in CA, why in the hell do you leave Stanford out?Ill believe this when it actually happens
Yep. Nothing about realignment since the formation of the B12 has been good for the sport overall. You see it in dwindling attendance numbers. Concentration of all the athletes at fewer schools will give those teams incredible depth, but also locker rooms that are nasty to manage. Good luck. Iowa State will continue to exist but we’re going to be the equivalent of FCS now, along with everyone else outside of the SEC and B1G.Not good for the sport, but then neither were the last 157 rounds of realignment. Yep. Great for the few, horrible for most of us.I think that college sports could all be regionalized the way that wrestling and baseball are now. Only a few pockets of the country will actually care.

I wouldn’t trust Kansas in this, at all. And we know of the rumors connecting Houston to the Pac-12 previously. Are we sure the opposite doesn’t happen and Big 12 schools get poached?
The Big 10 may go for Oregon and Washington next. After that, they would try to decide between Colorado and Stanford (to woo Notre Dame).I'd think you'd go after Oregon, Washington, either Arizaon/ASU, and maybe which ever one has a good consistent ratings.
