AJ Green Leaves the Portal - Staying in Draft

Completely inexcusable not to have a backup plan for this scenario.
I sure hope they have one, honestly. The roster is set up perfectly for a lead guard to basically step in to all the volume they could want.

I would imagine one is in place, because as soon as it wasn't a sure thing given the unique situation (having his dad on the staff) I cannot imagine the staff not at least starting the leg-work on other guys.

Lmao, well looks like 75% of this board that assured us he "would be a Cyclone" don't know jack. Next year should be a blast watching a soccer match on a basketball court.

Can we close these stupid threads now and concentrate on players that actually want to be here instead of a sellout and a guy who has dreams of the G-league.

Often frustrated at the so sure "he'll be a Cyclone" crowd getting our hopes way up, but still wanted him badly and don't enjoy this outcome. But realize we need to be happy for him that he got enough good feedback and is betting on himself. I still say he never really wanted to play here (or any college perhaps), or he would have pulled the trigger sooner, like even last season. Wanted to graduate and move on. Good luck to the young man.

Will we fill the last scholarship, do you think? Or just leave it open.

100% of you said you're done with basketball.

Part of the problem with Two Way deals is you better make darn sure and be 100% confident that Two Way deal is gonna come your way on Draft day. A team can tell a player they will offer a Two Way deal then come draft day things can get crazy and priorities change etc..

It is one thing if you are right in fringe 2nd rd...Then you can prob roll the dice...But AJG is nowhere near being drafted this year it seems.

Either way hope things work out for the best for all parties..
Just a horrible decision, in my opinion. Really?

I had the same thoughts…

Gotta love the ISU beat writers. Every single one just about guaranteed Green to ISU. I'd be fired for that type of error at work

Weatherman and sports prognosticators we don't have to be right we just have to say something.

You must have been sitting in on his meetings with NBA teams. Pretty awesome access you got.

Kid has been saying he's going to play in the NBA since he was 7 years old and he's betting on himself to get it done. I'm thrilled for him.
Yes!
