#15 Missouri gets bounced at home by Arizona, 1-0.

Arizona was the 3-seed in that region, so if you have to think about in basketball terms for some reason, this is like a #12 making the Sweet 16.

Future Big 12 member, #16 UCF advances to the super regionals. Their reward is a trip to Norman.

#11 Tennessee eliminated by Oregon State. Beavers were a 3 seed in that region.

Florida State losing to Mississippi State was a big surprise. Stanford over Alabama a surprise as well.
Missouri not all that surprising and this makes 2 years in a row they underachieved based on their seed. I can't stand Texas athletics but found myself pulling for their softball team yesterday. Big 10 and all their whining about last year and only getting 3 teams in clearly didn't back it up this year with 7 selected and 1 making it to a Super.
Nice season for UCF but now having to go to Norman. Good luck!
My picks below 8 College World Series Teams. Hope I'm wrong and OSU beats Clemson.
OU
ASU
UCLA
Arkansas
Virginia Tech
Stanford
Clemson
Arizona

Some time changes already -- see above list.

Of note: Big 12 plays back-to-back Thursday night on ESPN2, and now plays back-to-back-to-back Friday on ESPN2 starting at 3:30.

I'm disappointed that Big 12 only got 3 teams in the tourney, yet all three advanced to Super Regional. It was a lot tougher conference than given credit and a closer look would have shown that Baylor and/or ISU should have been in. We beat some good quality teams and played others tough; like beating OSU and playing OU 4 times without ever getting beat like A&M did. The selection show was good but they didn't discuss teams that were close and why they were left out like they do b-ball. SEC with 13 of their 14 teams in the tourney but only 3 advancing, that's ridiculous and someone needs to take notice. Big 10 with 7 and 1 advancing? JP needs to ask these questions and make noise. The ESPN coverage of softball is much better than it used to be but when they commented that T A&M had a 'great season' and deserved the chance to play in the regional AFTER getting beat 20-0 that was too much for me. They should have said "they didn't belong"

Yeah, turns out we had a tougher schedule than they realized.

LOL. There's nothing for JP to do here.

ISU's RPI was 59, and Baylor's was 63. The cutoff for an at-large bid is usually around 45. A&M (40) and Arizona (43) were the last two in.

ISU lost several games that would have helped tremendously come selection time.

And ESPN is a shill for the SEC and Big Ten. Very little of their commentary should be taken seriously.

Shadow is right. RPI is their brain trust. Let’s be honest plenty of flaws in it but that’s what they use.
I wonder is there weight given to a team like Iowa State that is stuck playing 80-90% of their games on the road or neutral sites? Look at the Florida, Texas and California schools they’ll play 55 games and 35-40 are likely at home. I would hope it’s taken into account but who really knows. SOS how is it weighted? That’s what A&M had going for them #10 SOS.
