Here is my breakdown from MidAmerican for 32 leading up to 1/10/2022. Scared for next months bill.. (We switched from an electric range to a gas range last month as well)

My MidAmerican bill was issued this morning. As I expected, ouch..

To make matters worse. Gas prices went up nearly $1/unit when comparing to last month...

My budget billing renewal came up a few days ago and they didn't change it. What probably helped is that they always try to lower it in the summer when usage is lower and I usually leave the higher amount in place.

I got a Mid American budget billing $20 increase in Nov to prepare for the new costs. Last month it went back down $10 so it was only $10 more than my original cost.

Curious. I have a 10 year old ranch. 2500 finished sf in total. My bill is $225 this month. Is that on par with what others have?? To me it seems quite high

Our situations are nearly identical and mine was very slightly higher than yours.

Well Weatherstreet which 7 days out was right with the January snow, right in timing but wrong in placement (went south in Mizzou) of the last snow storm..........is now saying central Iowa will get buried next Thursday and Friday.

living in an old house with no insulation on the outside and having two HVAV systems really ramps up the gas bill when its cold. 500 gallon tank can only go so far. filled up twice in Jan.

looking forward to spring and 40s/50s.

I have a 3-bedroom house, 1 1/2 story home with a great room (kitchen, dining, living combined), and my last combined gas/electric bill was $365! (Ankeny).

I think having one giant room is hard on the 'ole furnace. Plus work from home mostly so someone is always here.

40+ year old split level. 1900sqft, about $220 for gas and electric last month through alliant. Granted the furnace is about a 20 year old high efficiency.
