Agbaji out with COVID

Hope he bounces back quick. He seems like a good kid and is really talented.

Someone else will step up for KU. They still have Braun, Martin, Harris and a very familiar Coleman-Lands.

Unfortunately, I think they will lean extra heavy on McCormack and Lightfoot now. We need to keep them from establishing post position early and not get in early foul trouble. Jones and Conditt can't afford to waste fouls 15 feet from the rim.

Nothing is ever guarenteed, but I'd rather play Kansas without Agbaji than with him, thats for sure.
Absolutely. It definitely increases ISUs chances, but its far from guaranteed. Calling it a must win like the OP did is ridiculous. ISU can, and very well might, lose this game and it won't put a dent in their tournament chances. Fans need to go into the game with proper perspective and expectations and not lose their shite if we dont win.

That sucks for Kansas...that said they're still really talented....and if we do win, the media will use that as an excuse for sure.

There are different flavors of "must-win".

Is our season over if we don't? Absolutely not. But with as difficult as the big 12 is right now, we have to take advantage of opportunities like this.

Right. First I hope Agbaji is okay and recovers well.

Beating KU is the important thing full strength or not. ISU almost won at KU at full strength so there is no asterisk if ISU wins tonight.

That said what makes a blue blood is the top end talent and then the backups they can have on roster JCL for instance is a multiple year P% starter there's a drop off but not to the level of other programs would have in similar situations. They are still very talented with a HOF coach.

ISU still can't relax an iota due to this news.

And they could lose tonight and go on a 6 game win streak. It's sports. Who knows what's going to happen. Piling up a bunch of expectations on one outcome is dumb.

I'm sure they will play tonight, but I'd rather they postpone the game if there's a chance our guys could be exposed. ISU would almost certainly struggle if we had anyone in our rotation out with COVID. We just don't have the depth.
