They significantly widened the bridge over 30. Here is an article discussing the plan.

This entire project conflicts significantly with the thought that NIL or the college football playoff is negatively impacting the athletic department.
I am guessing the flood issue is being addressed by all the work being done along Squaw Creek and the Skunk River - see by Howes Welding on Duff.
Entertainment District could benefit from an indoor parking garage. In the winter months, ISU BB at the Hilton wouldn't have to scoop snow off their vehicles, also wouldn't need to worry about hail or wind blowing debris into cars.
Correct. They are widening the banks through there to alleviate flooding issues through Ames.
This is no way that this thread wasn't going to turn into an Ames flood infrastructure or Hilton LED lighting discussion
Great news then, they are mitigating that risk. We are an engineering school, we'll figure it out. Saylorville lake was a river for thousands of years. Now it's a lake. It's not magic, people know how to fix these things.

Wouldn't be bad for football either when it's raining or freezing cold. Expensive as sin, but interesting idea.
One pays thousands a month in rental income and is backed by a multi-million dollar corporation. The other is a liability to the athletic department's bottom line (outside of about 10 players)
Tailgating in a parking garage isn't tailgating. Just my opinion having experienced it a couple times.
Even if they build a ramp. It won't be indoor as you can't dig down in a floodplain. We are stuck with the cold
My longstanding view has been you need a non tailgating lot for people who just want to park. Sometimes schedules don’t allow early arrival or some people just don’t tailgate. This could be a great opportunity to put those people.
