Greetings from a Clemson fan....

I'm old enough to remember Iowa State's Liberty Bowl game vs. Georgia Tech in 1972, I think it was a night game and it was on TV when most college FB games weren't televised; I'd just started watching college football, so I didn't know anything about either team, but I recall an exciting game...

I see all three ESPN 'Bowl Mania' guys are taking Clemson. Not because of line play, or some other talent evaluation, but because of Clemson's culture.
If culture is what wins this one, I like our chances.

And without looking (haven't watched much of Clemson) I could assume their line play is better than ISU.

All of Clemson's games are on youtube; but if you don't want to watch all 12, I would suggest 3 that define our season; vs. Louisville (last second win), vs. NC State (loss in double OT) and vs. SC ( a 30 - 0 win but could have been 50 -0)...

All things considered, whoever plays the "cleanest" game and executes is likely the winner, given the projected closeness of this game...

Watching the SC highlights now out of curiosity.

'Athlete' comes to mind.

Colorized version(s) of course!

I attended my first Clemson game in 1972, I think vs. Maryland, so it dates to at least then and maybe before, and the fans go on the field regardless of a win or a loss. In all those years there's only been a single incident that I'm aware of when some fans tore down the goal posts (against FSU I think). Now we have remote controlled goal posts that can be lowered before the fans hit the field...
That's interesting! How does it work? Any vids?

I'm old enough to remember but don't. Some racial overtones. Oh the era's we've gone thru.
A look at the 1972 Liberty Bowl - Wide Right & Natty Lite (widerightnattylite.com)

I haven't watched a lot of Clemson this year, but from what I gather offense was more of an issue than defense. I'd expect a low scoring game, and it appears Vegas agrees with the O/U at 45.5.

Our defensive line is very good, lead by Will McDonald who is a first team all-american. Our LB corps is also good; Mike Rose was the Big 12 defensive player of the year last year - was good this year as well, but battled some injuries. If there is a weakness in the defense, it is in the passing game as our secondary had some issues (particularly in the West Virginia and Texas Tech games). Our safeties are better against the run; Isheem Young hits as hard as I've seen a safety hit. I'm looking forward to it; should be a fun game!
Well, forget that. Lol

Is there a site that’s better for Clemson board? That tigers.net thing has more adds that minor league stadium outfield. Seems like there’s traffic but it’s all over the place.

There are others, but as far as I know "TigerNet" is the most popular....

I'm also very interested in stadium designs and such; I understand that Jack Trice Stadium was renovated some years ago. Are their future plans for further upgrades? Clemson is beginning one now....

It's pretty much caught up for now other than the big pedestrian bridge they are building from the new tailgating lots and over the main road that runs by the stadium. If you've ever been to W.V. stadium it was a copy of Trice originally. The Sukup end zone addition, the new score board, and the new athletic training facility right next to the stadium, makes it look pretty nice. For our budget our A.D. does a good job of getting a bang for the buck.

Clemson fans are big time "tailgaters"...you'll be asked to join a few I'm sure..:).

So... agriculture, tailgating, and losing in the worst way possible (aka "Clemsoning" or around here "nut cup").

I feel like we might be twins separated at birth... now if ISU could just have 10 consecutive years of 10+ wins please!

We are trying to put together the parts for a CycloneFanatics tailgate. Once we have details, we will start a new thread. Looks like we may even be able to hold it in the ADA lot just south of the stadium. Should be talking tomorrow with Ray of Priceless BBQ who provided ribs, chicken, and sides two years ago.

Lemoore85 is welcome to stop by with any similar Clemson fans.

I was at that game (as well as the Sun Bowl the year before). It was an exciting game. I don't remember much about game-related racial issues, probably because I spent too much time on Beale Street.
