ISU favored by 7, I don't understand it but I like it.

Both very good defenses, but ISU offense is much better. Plus at home.

ISU SHOULD be favored, and should win, barring turnovers and special teams debacles. Which is of course why they play the game, freaking turnovers and special teams debacles...

It's friendly. But they are still bitter since we ruined their chance to play for a national championship 10 yrs ago. They're the only kryptonite to Brocktober.
Reading some Cowboy forums this evening the Pokes seem like a humble fan base with little to no ISU axes to grind.

Quality opponent to knock off before the next. Will be a great game to watch.

As a personal aside, your meme game is top shelf.

Circa opens us up as a 7 point favorite:

I will keep that in mind when I make my 'never bet'.
Interesting in that they’re ranked 8th in the AP poll, and we’re not rated.
Agreed. Curious. Vegas uses their own logic and algorithms. Since it involves money won or lost I would take Vegas odds most of the time.

I hope they are right!

No problems with Ok-State or fans. Good rival and conference member. Hope we change the result of their last two wins over us. Gonna be a tough game as usual.

So I've got some bad news and some good news.

The bad news is that I've got the Pokes winning this one. 31-28ish.

The good news is that virtually every CFB prediction I've a made this season has been horribly and terribly wrong.

Looking forward to this game because I'm also a closet Pokes fan. After Chip Kelly demonstrated that a quality, but not yet elite, football team could leverage an up tempo spread offense into a competitive advantage the Pokes went all in. They're a fun team to watch and have been scratching on the B12 ceiling glass for awhile. They remind me of an earlier version of Oregon but without some of the horrid uniform combinations.

I'll be rooting for a Cyclones win, of course, but what is the traditional history between OSU and ISU? I don't get the sense you guys are rivals.
HaHa. That was good. Come after me! I'm a man!

Trying to buy parking, but keep getting the message that "the event is not on sale". If I can't get parking, are campus lots and a long walk still an option?

I suppose it's a little over mile? So it's not a terrible walk. I've parked on campus and walked for all the games I've attended this season.

Original members of the Big8. They are pretty much like us except their in state rival actually is good at FB. Plus lots of people like Gundy for his quotes sort of like Mike Leach he's a entertaining interview in his pressers. Mutual respect not huge rivals IMO. Strictly my opinion it's Iowa and KSU for FB rivals for ISU, and KU and Iowa in MBB. It's a really nice campus I walked it a few yrs ago before going to a MBB game. The layout of their BB arena is kind of odd, not really a traditional bowl most of the seating is elevated above the court with only a few bleachers along the sides and on the ends. Well this is more than you expected sorry about the long post.

I like the stats you present, it makes me feel a bit better. Question though, does KSU's rushing stats include sacks? If so, those numbers would inflate a fair amount, similar to your example in the OSU/UT game.
Nothing that was listed as a sack was included. IIRC the Sanders play in the OSU game was a bad snap he covered up so I think it was considered a "non-pass" i.e. run.

we aren't necessarily rivals, but our schools are very similar and our games over the last decade have been pretty close. I personally have a lot of respect for Ok State and their fans seem to be the best who come to Ames imo

I have Oklahoma State winning this. Like Jay Jordan mentioned in a previous podcast regarding Toe "it's a riddle Matt & company haven't figured out yet". I believe holds true for Oklahoma State as well.

Yes, Matt & Co. beat OSU in Brock Purdy's debut. However, since OSU didn't have any film on Brock, that gave ISU enough of an edge to overcome this "riddle". On previous FART podcasts Jeff Woody mentioned this being a important dynamic (in reference to Rattler's replacement at OU".

True Campbell has only solved the riddle once, even though you don't want to give him credit for it, but should have won in 2017 or whenever the Marchie Murdock TD ruled INT game occurred. The OSU issues since the big upset back in 2011 have certainly been an issue. It is almost like Rhoads sold his soul to the devil that Friday night in Ames and the team has been paying for it ever since.
