So……I’m officially old now (according to my nephew who texted me). Thought the wife was being nice when she said that us and the youngest would go out for supper. Get into the car and the wife asks if I have my money clip. Cripes, had to buy my own supper on my birthday. In fact I had to pay for the wife and one kid also so it seemed like somebody else’s.

I let the son decide. They know there is one place I have on permanent boycott due to the owners. Otherwise I’m flexible. Went Mexican.

I did get a free slice of caseys pizza for lunch though. So I guess that was my paid meal.

I did economics, money and banking, production and operations, and a couple others. We’re at night and usually had two groups, the 25-45 year olds and the Tanzania students. Where I learned they liked to party. All they talked about.

Yeah, adjunct was my night job too. I had mostly 25-40 year olds in 2000s but it had really trended down to 20-25 year olds by the time I stopped. WIU-QC is considered a 2+ finisher with the vast majority of students fed in from area community colleges. At first, I would say 100% of students worked full time during day and classes at night. By end, it was probably 50/50 between full time students and full time workers taking classes.

I've been listening to a short podcast on Spotify every work morning (and I intensely dislike podcasts) which has been surprisingly interesting. It's called 7 Good Minutes https://7goodminutes.com/podcast/
As a "try this" from Spotify, I found the album/compilation "Carnival of the Animals" by Camille Saint-Saens. I first heard of this as a kid and really couldn't visualize the animals in the music. Now I'm going to listen to every animal/song because I want to.

So now we are discussing a situation that I told them how to do it 2 years ago that was customizable for each client, but as usual no one listens to me.

While I am, they strangely did this interview with all cameras off. No doubt that cost me big.

Interviewing over Zoom is weird.
When I did it this past Spring it was really hard to get a feel for the room. My skillsets are really developed in that arena, particularly when it came to the teaching demo, and it felt like it really landed flat.
