That was the most blitzes I have seen by ISU in a long time. The defense was incredible. Hall looks like he has added some muscle, I hope he goes with pushing instead of diving over the goal line next time. Purdy made some really good throws - good game. The defensive backs for UNLV were horrible at coverage, that makes the ISU passing game hard to judge. Special teams were outstanding - except for our one kickoff that looked like it was deliberately kicked out of bounds. I was expecting a lot more from Dekkers - his throws were way off target.
The best DIVER WE EVER HAD WAS ...Dwayne Crutchfield....I'm just saying Crutch ran over the hoks twice....

Anyone noticed the stadium has a CC closed captioning I guess it shows what the announcer mention and it botched the score as Iowa State Furniture UNLV 3, LOL !

I did like that they had CC in the stadium!

Wonder why J Brock doesn't get more carries. I get the young guys need more experience but then give him more while the game is in doubt or kind of between the time you put the youngins in.

Maybe we start to see more starting this week.

Hall really needed to get some room to run like last night.

Actually not all that concerned about the time and score. This team isn't explosive offensively. Their MO is being effecient and TOP. Moving the ball methodically that end up in scores or changing the field is what the offense needs to do. With this defense 2 TD leads should be game over.
You say our MO is efficient, but there was nothing efficient about moving the ball well but not converting to points. When you dominate but the **** opponent is still in the game because you fail to be efficient, that’s bad news.

Imo you’re confusing what we want our MO to be, not that we’re actually that (yet). Maybe we’ll get there. We often don’t win the TO margin, abd it’s not because we’re taking more risks.

I'm thinking UNLV might be the worst Division 1 football team I've ever seen.
They have some SERIOUS identity issues on offense. That QB rotation thing they tried was a massive cluster. I give them credit for not abandoning the run though. They kept trying and it was never going to work. Those OTs for them are going to have nightmares about Macdonald for days.

UNLV is not the best division one football team. But we made them look a lot worse than they are. Give the team some credit folks. Enjoy a victory….do some c0ck push-ups…..it’s a beautiful day.
We mad then quit which was great to see

UNLV is so bad I don't think you can really take a ton away from the game. Still didn't think we did a lot in the vertical passing game, but we saw more than we had the last two weeks. To win in conference we have to go more vertical than we have been. I think this week is going to be very telling about the team ISU actually has

Kinda proved that not to be true last season. But yeah, I'd prefer if we had some kind of deep threat.

How much can you expect from a RB named C. Williams?

UConn this year looks really bad. I mean, really bad.
139 combined pts given up in 3 losses to Army, Purdue, and Holy Cross.
This is correct. I live in CT and am married to a UConn alum. This is not the same UConn program from the first Randy Edsall go-around. They are absolutely abysmal. KU would route them without question.

Still looking for a second WR. Loved seeing X have a big night but we gotta spread the ball around. Brock was much more accurate but he still had a bit of tunnel vision, he just locks on to that first target. Hopefully last night gave him some confidence and the game can slow down a bit for him so he can start getting other guys involved.

He hit Hutch almost every time he targeted him and went 21-24. Why not throw it to the open guy when he is your best WR?
