May have to take you up on that. We would normally be there with our parking pass but apparently my parents who would never have considered buying one until we said we wanted one feel they need it so they can do their "tailgating" (sitting there by themselves eat cold meat ham and turkey sandwiches, grapes and some chips) when they get there around 1.
Also, if desperate, I can tell you a few tents where you can just say you work for me on the side and you can get burgers/brats/beer. For free. That could be the only thing that stops our tailgate some, to go grab some free stuff.

You can go see your clients and I will hang back with the college girls. Paging @cyrocksmypants and WDSM

Going through things for the school year. I will need to in a couple months find plane tickets for the wife and daughter. This trip really ticks me off. It is for the nieces “official” one year anniversary where they will reinact their wedding. They could not use the place they wanted but were bound and determined to get married on the 4-3-21 date. So they went to the desert with a large group and got married there, but only had the maid of honor and best man stand with them.

This coming April they want all their wedding party to now stand with them since they can have it at the venue they wanted. My daughter is a brides maid. So my wife and daughter get to jump on a plane Friday night, get a rental car, rent a room for two nights, go to the wedding on Saturday and fly back Sunday.

THEY KNEW THE WHOLE WEDDING PARTY WOULD BE THERETHE FIRST TIME ANYHOW. they just didnt have them in the wedding.

So there goes a chunk of cash so they can have pictures at an indoor venue also. Another concern is my wife’s family thinks it’s odd that my daughter doesn’t drink. SHES FLIPPING 18 YEARS OLD. They were startled when she was 16 and chose not to. They think you have to be laying in your own vomit to be having fun. They slipped her Jell-O shots once as jello. As a dad, I’m concerned since I can’t be there.

end of rant.

Wow, that's, uh, special?

The drinking / alcohol thing is not cool at any level let alone for kids that are underage. Especially if they say no. I really dislike people that are like that. I'm sorry that your definition of a goodtime involves not remembering the previous night and then complaining for the entire following day about how hungover you are.

It was fun at our kids birthday parties for the wife’s brother and wife to usually be hungover. Had to plan 3 year olds birthday parties around their drinking also. We quit inviting them after a bit. Fun when your in-laws are known as the big party people. When we flew out to these graduations for the out of stater, we left when they broke out the kegs and alcohol for the HS graduate and their classmates.

Seeing some stuff about fans here...where's the best spot for stands that sell food for tailgating?

This is for Oct. Longish story but we won't be going to the game but I'm thinking maybe we could hit up a couple of stands at least.

Stands? Like for food? There are none.

Really?

I could have sworn there used to be. Could be thinking of something else.

10 years or so ago the wrestling club hosted lunch things but there is nothing like that anymore. Well I guess you can buy over priced food at the Alumni Center but it's nothing like Iowa City with vendors set up across the street (because that is private land)

Our favorite wine drinking, pie eating, bike riding sloth has made it another time around the sun.

DND so officially made it be a septuagenarian.

Old Dana House buddy and bird expert came down from up north to visit. Went on a 7 hour birding walkabout. Kind of a long day for two old guys. And got first minor sunburn of the year, in September.

Happy birthday box. Go find a bottle of wine and a tall lady (or crazy one if you prefer), and split some key lime pie.

My bluetooth earbuds broke so I bought new completely wireless ones which arrived yesterday. Already lost one this morning....

Happy belated birthday @BoxsterCy!

And even the meal at the Alumni Center needs paid reservations by Wed. before, I think.
