Random Thoughts 15: Crystal Clear 2021 Edition

Started a fire while we were outside playing last night, forgot to put the lid back on the Kindling Can (just came up with that...patent pending) (garbage can used to put small twigs etc. in for use starting fires). Thankfully on that front the rain dissipated and went around us. Unfortunately we badly need the rain.

Olympic speed walking…….like watching a bicycle race where they can only use first gear.

Were the "athletes" taller with a long stride. I feel like I could be good at this, I always have to slow down when walking with others. 2024 Olympics here I come

Most were. It was a 50k, so around 31.1 miles. Seriously, why not just a marathon, but they gotta go longer. They said one guy covered 5k in 22 minutes so they were moving well. Many looked to basically be jogging. If you are going to limit the speed they can go, walk and not run, why not shorten up the distance to like 20k or so?

That's a long walk. Maybe the runners made fun of them so they made their race longer to compensate.

Folks, it’s my lucky day. I received an envelope from Toronto Canada today. It contained a letter about this dude from the US that had the same last name as me with no next of kin. He passed away almost 10 years ago and if someone doesn’t claim his $7.8 MM account it will be forfeited.

This caring individual at the bank has been watching it and doesn’t want it to get lost and since I had the same last name and also from the US he is going to present me as best of kin and I get the funds. What a great guy! All I have to do is call him and set things up. I will probably slip him 10k as a gift for being nice. This is a great day I tell ya!!!

Once I get these funds, the next RTT tailgate is completely on me.

Wow, that can pay a phone off in a few months. Save your $100/month for 6 months and you will have a phone prepaid next time.

I buy cheap phones so maybe you will need to save for a couple more than 6.

Went bikeabout. DND. Chased yellow jersey gal who passed me near Lake Harriet for two laps around the lake, about six miles. Couldn't totally keep up, lost about 50 feet per mile, but she was a good inspiration to bike faster. Those young fit peeps are kind of motivating. Was getting close at four miles than she kicked in the turbo and I was near my 15 mile break so folded and took a break in the shade.
