Ya, one could make a good case for including Brecksville, Mt. Healthy and also Beloit in that list.Snubbing Brecksville

Absolutely correct! From south to north, the most important cities in Ohio:
1. Massillon
2. Salem
3. Hiram
4. Cleveland
and we all know why.
Sorry can’t. The Crystal Ball told us we shouldn’t.We should start showing some love on Twitter. I only see Michigan replying to everything
I never heard anyone from CBus compare the city to Chicago, maybe Indy. Concerning other cities in Ohio, CBus has blown past those cities.
Columbus is the largest city in Ohio
I knew Columbus was a big city now, never knew how large it was or is getting. I know OSU is a huge university, over 100,000 students plus?Correct. It’s by far the most “typically Midwestern” Ohio city.
Cleveland: Former Soviet Republic
Cincinnati: Missouri
Dayton: Small Indianapolis
So……. Eugenio. Coming to the good guys?
Yeah I guess the thread got off a little huh? Well, how are we stacking up? Do you think Mario comes to ISU?Ha ha! Who?
For him it has to be a difficult decision because Michigan (this pains me to say this) is Michigan - national titles, big ten titles, they have done it all. Not totally relevant in the playoff era today, but they are a historic program - and a fantastic academic school.Yeah I guess the thread got off a little huh? Well, how are we stacking up? Iowa State is on the rise, just coming off a Fiesta Bowl, and Matt Campbell is a top 5 coach nationally. I think he would agree with this.
But if you are him, do you want to go to Michigan in the midst of a coaching change? I would put the odds of Harbaugh being there in 3 years at like 10%. He would have to start a hell of a run starting this season contending for the playoff and beating OH State.
Kids don't commit to schools. Yes that's where they play and go to school. But kids commit to Coaches not schools.Agreed. The thing not said is that players commit to schools, not coaches (even though the new transfer rules dilute that). So in that light, I can understand a kid picking a school like Michigan over ISU. Obviously, as a fan, I hope he picks us.
(Side note pet peeve: Michigan has some fantastic academic programs, so does Iowa State. I wouldn't categorize or short-shrift academic institutions *as a whole* when comparing them when they are both in the AAU. Ivy league, sure. But not one state school to another)

I’m not sure seventeen year old kids think like that. They don’t have that long term historical perspective. The same way that most kids that age only see what ISU has done the last two or three years. But if you are him, do you want to go to Michigan in the midst of a coaching change? I love Iowa State and Ames. I went there and both my kids went there. We lived near Ann Arbor for 4 years when I worked in Michigan. Ann Arbor is a really cool town, but it is very different than Ames. It is more like Iowa City in my opinion. I think it depends where a kid feels comfortable in a lot of cases too. My kids toured at a lot of great schools that I thought they may like, but in many ways Ames is different. Ultimately they both loved Iowa State.
Thomas was supposed to commit today, not sure what happened. I know he’ll be a cyclone though. Why does everyone thing Eugenio is gonna end up at Michigan? Has he dropped some hints or are people assuming this just because it's Michigan?
If we do somehow land him, is there also a good chance that we get Thomas?
My bad, I should have been more specific. I meant the DT that is a teammate of Eugenio. Tawfiq? Hope I spelled that right.Thomas was supposed to commit today, not sure what happened. I know he’ll be a cyclone though.
Oh no, no, no, no, noo! No you don't! Don't jinx in now.I’m not sure seventeen year old kids think like that. They don’t have that long term historical perspective. The same way that most kids that age only see what ISU has done the last two or three years.
Or…perhaps he’s a rather Byzantine thinker after all, and figures that if Harbaugh is out, Matt Campbell will be the coach. He wins either way!
(I hope he chooses Iowa State tomorrow in any case)
I believe that we’re in a good place with Tawfiq regardless if Eugenio picks Mich. Dare I say the leaders for him?My bad, I should have been more specific. I meant the DT that is a teammate of Eugenio. Tawfiq? Hope I spelled that right.
I’d agree, but you never can tell what’s going through the mind of a 16 or 17 year old kid. I mean, besides girls. Tawfiq posted this a couple of days ago.I believe that we’re in a good place with Tawfiq regardless if Eugenio picks Mich. Dare I say the leaders for him?
