That's what I've always said....and if he has success here additional money (and a legacy) is created...or even bigger/better NFL jobs,etc.
What about how Matt operates or what Matt says makes you feel like he wants an NFL job? I’m not trying to poke a fight here, maybe he does. I do not see it. At all.
Also, while I know he's a football junkie, I also know he truly wants to develop young men.....NFL, while the ultimate in football, you do lose some of the other things he may enjoy....doesn't mean someday he may not want that.
Also, will be curious how his old roommate, now Eagles coach does....you gotta think that type of honest insight into the NFL gig would be influential.

Oh, I agree...I just posted another post saying basically he seems very into developing young men and that seems very genuine and enjoyable to him...watch him on Senior day.

I heard that he turned down more than this from Texas from a really good source a few months back. I didn’t believe it because it seemed crazy, but this makes me think it may have been legit.

I think he’s here for a little while longer. Especially based on that contract he turned down and every school/NFL team that’s reached out to him the last few years.
This next offseason will tell all. Either he leaves(which he easily could have already for a more prestigious school/NFL and a lot more money) or he’s here for the long haul, which he’s said and hates that we don’t trust him every year.

I’m not sure any good NFL jobs will be open after next season. He will be back.
With all due respect, you don't understand Matt Campbell. He said time and time again that he doesn't view his job as a spring board to something higher. He loves to impact the lives of young men - to get them to reach their fullest potential - more than he loves to celebrate wins. He doesn't define success by the number of wins or the size of the paycheck. He defines it by helping young men become the highest version of themselves. He believes the opponent is always yourself, not the team across the field.
Matt Campbell is an incredibly rare kind of person. I honestly believe his intention is to build a Mt. Union type program right here in Ames, Iowa.

Do you some of you folks even pay any attention whatsoever to everything that the man himself actually says?
A. He thought he could build another Boise St at Toledo.
B. Jamie sold him that ISU is a better place to build a legacy.
C. The guys he looks up to are coaches like his mentor at Mount Union, Larry Kehres, Bill Snyder at KState and South Dakota State’s John Stiegelmeier—who just played for the FCS national title.
All of those guys were at one spot for well over twenty years. Well, one is still working on it.

The point also is that if Matt wanted Alaskan cod flown in fresh every day to have with his eggs in the morning, there would be thread started two seconds later and a lot of us figuring out how to study together to get our pilots licenses.
You have to take pretty much anything with a grain of salt but has he ever actually said he's here for the long haul?

Well its finally official..... money doesn't motivate Matt. Molding young men to be the best they can be, personally and athletically motivates him. I crack up at some people's comments about taking Detroit money and retiring if it doesn't work out. Can you see him at age 45 sitting on a beach in Destin and watching college football on his phone. HELL NO!!
