$75 for labor and supplies in spring and 75 bucks for fall spraying. What do people pay for lawn services to come out and treat their lawn? I love DIY'ing lawn care but te drought and native area next to my lawn are causing weeds to realy get out of hand
Yup I will be putting granular down Monday before the rainLooks like we have entered prime pre-emergent season a couple weeks early (For DSM metro). Saw a ton of lawn service crews out yesterday so I had to check for myself
Is it possible to throw some seed down in spots now, try to get some growth, then still be able to apply pre-emergent this Spring?

When temps warm consistently into the mid 60's or 70's during the day and the weeds are actively growinguickly. Herbicides work best when the plant is actively growing. When is a good time to put down Weed B Gon Chickweed, Clover and Oxalis Killer to work on creeping charlie? Same soil temps as crab grass pre-emergent stuff?
Where are you seeing this? I always use this site, and it says it's only 41 degrees.Way early folks. Don't need to put down pre-emergent herbicide until average soil temp is 55 degrees. Currently:
Des Moines, Iowa
Current Soil Temperature : 53°
24-Hour Average : 42.3°
5 Day Average : 38.2°

Has anyone done their overseeding yet this spring? (I know its best in the fall but I didn't get it done last year).
I was going to do it this past weekend but thought I should let the soil get a little warmer. Now I'm thinking this coming weekend after all this rain.
I plan on using weed killer. how long after putting down the weed killer would you wait before it’s ok to seed?I'd do it before the Sunday/Monday warm-up. Expect a lot of weeds since you are seeding in the spring. Also, you can't put down an pre-emergent weed killers as that will prohibit the seedlings from germinating.
Expect to water heavily through the summer heat but you can do a spring seeding

I have recently been using Millorganite with decent results. I moved into a new house late last fall and don't know what the fertilization history has been. My new yard is quite a bit bigger (about twice the size). I have a handheld spreader to save on garage space. Now I will have to use 4-5 bags of Millorganite per application. I could get by with less if I go with a synthetic fertilizer like Scotts. Would going to a synthetic fertilizer be beneficial or should I stick with Millorganite?
Not sure it’s a lawn company.Depends. What product are you using?
