I want to reiterate that absolutely nothing has been confirmed here. There is one story that was written and there's already another report out of Vegas with conflicting information. People have either retweeted the original story or regurgitated the same information, which is not the same as confirming. There is nothing confirmed at this point and to call anything official is disingenuous at best. When there is something to confirm, I can promise you we'll let you know. We're very much not there yet.
Terrible unexciting hire. Obviously this was baked in the cake for a long time. Not impressed at all.
I would take Penn State's interim coach over here as the top assistant. Those guys were physical and played tough D. Didn't back down from anyone.
This is a legit take. Other big fish in the pool (Belien, Matta) will be in demand and won’t come cheap. I was kinda’ leaning towards DeVries, but Otz is also a great get given the circumstances. He may also be the best candidate to restock the program with top talent, which is the number one priority IMHO. Watching some of the Cyclone players that played lots of minutes in recent years...bless their hearts...has been tough to watch.
Nothing like UNLV getting paid $3M to not keep a .500 coach. Pretty good ROI.

That would be amazing. And let's be honest, with how down I am about this hire, it would only be fitting if I had to eat my words for the next 10 years. (I wasn't down on the Matt Campbell hire until his first game, but I was down on it after that game!)
I have actually tried to come up with some positives because while I don't mind looking stupid on here and I sort of enjoy playing dumb, it would be nice not to look really, really dumb if this works out.
But, man, I honestly cannot muster a lot of positives about it. I'm sure I'll get there.
