Coaching Search: Place your bets

Half of those guys you have coming off the bench won't even be on the team next year which is probably a good thing.
There’s a high chance that there will be a lot of attrition. I didn’t feel comfortable speculating ya know? Either way, say you have that starting 5, add Grill, Nunn obviously stays because of Arthur.

I have no idea what the other guys are doing but that hypothetical 7 is an incredibly good building block to start out with.

I live In Lincoln. Even though NE has a horrible record, the city paper has all kind of coverage with pictures every week. The NE women are doing much better with very little newspaper coverage. Hoiberg has a lot of support with fans thinking much better days are ahead and maybe they are. But Fred has really changed as a coach. Frequently he gets angry on the sidelines and reams his players when he takes them out and even throws things. I don't remember him being like that at Iowa State. I think at this point I think we're better off without him.

Everyone - please stop with the Archie Miller nonsense. It is clear from anyone advocating him that they have not watched ANY Indiana hoops over the past 4 years, and are simply looking at his Dayton record. He has arguably done less with more than even Prohm.
Last years Indiana team would’ve made the tournament, however Archie technically hasn’t played an in an NCAA game in Bloomington.

We'll gladly take him off your hands.

Yeah I saw him throw his mask on the ground one game after a botched last second play.

Was unusual. It was rare for him to show he was upset at ISU and it was usually under wraps.

Despite having near top notch recruiting classes. The best thing Archie has done is re-establish IU as the destination for in-state recruits. He just hasn't done anything with all that talent

Same Alabama team we beat in Atlantis last year also. Jsut proves how a good coach can build a winner quickly and a bad coach can send another program into the basement in the span of 15 months.
Yep! Nate ended up bringing in 6 new comers too. 4 true freshman, familiar name Keon Ellis from a JUCO, and then an immediate eligible post from Yale.

That doesn’t help my narrative so I’m not going to comment on that

Ha! Your point is very valid. But I don’t think it’s completely fair to compare us to one of the best teams in the country with us coming off of our covid break, when most teams are at their absolute worst (hell we almost beat Baylor in their first game back and I think Michigan state lost by 40).

Oh there’s absolutely no comparison. ;) lol I was just being dumb.

Make the best choice for the health of Cyclone basketball. Don't be shortsighted thinking you have to hire a coach because he might bring a player you like along with him.

We got Prohm in part because he was a coach with head coaching experience (to satisfy the university president) that would permit the existing team to operate under the previous system (something the returning team wanted.)

That only worked out for a little while.

I saw Caleb pass up a couple of shots that would have been in rhythm and wondered why he didn't take the shot. Timing was right, it might have made a difference at that point in the game.

Caleb just doesn't look fluid or aggressive with his shot. I've seen four UNLV games and he had only one good half. The talent is there to be a long range off guard shooter, but it must be confidence thing.

Matt Thomas went through the same thing.
