I mean we aren’t close to the “search” point yet and everyone is acting like JP has said he isn’t doing a “search”, like he just sits around all day and doesn’t have a working list.

Which says a lot about the trust people have in Jamie. Is that because he wanted to hire TJ in 2015 without a search? Or because it’s known we had an opportunity to move in a different direction in 2019, but instead gave Prohm a buyout that never made sense?

I don’t think moving on was possible after we’d just had a good season.. Extending him though.. yeah didn’t make any sense.

Big fan of Gates and Tang. Will be interesting to see if Gates is in the mix at Penn State. I know he's got a prior relationship with the AD there. Tang is an intriguing one because of all his ties in Texas and the long-term success he's had with Scott Drew. Just have to wonder if he wants to be a head coach again. Can't imagine he hasn't had opportunities previously.

I think it’ll be tomorrow. Let the guys get back from KC and then make the announcement so Jamie doesn’t have to this weekend. If it’s not tomorrow, I think it’ll be sometime Saturday or Sunday.

I’m not sure honestly.. it’s definitely a tough question. I do know one thing. Alabama is extremely happy with how things have played out lol.

If Pollard announces TJ next week, the whole "search" was an expected sham. I'll be excited, but not the way Pollard or TJ want. I won't even bother giving either a chance if that's the approach we're taking.

TJ wouldn't be among the top 3-4 guys I would like to see, but if TJ is named quickly that doesn't mean a search didn't occur.

Guys like Beilein or Motta who currently are not coaching could have easily been contacted by Jamie or a search firm.

With current college head or assistant coaches , Jamie could have a search firm reach out to gauge interest from coaches on a short list.

One benefit of naming any coach quickly will be getting our current player intentions known and starting the spring recruiting process
