Need to look into it further but is the vaccine rollout in IA updated for 65+ AND the different tiers or after the tiers?

It will take a long time but was glad to hear that news.

SIP but time to get dressed and do my walkabout. Been working more on a photo and background inventory of all of my dad's WWII souvenirs. Seriously, he brought home enough stuff to stock a small museum display! Lots of interwebbing involved. I feel like a museum curator/researcher. Found a wealth of info that you won't have been able to find outside of bulletin boards or direct talk with "experts" not that long ago. Like that the German brass belt buckle and belt was from a member of the evil Storm Troops, aka Brown Shirts, that were the armed militia of the Nazi party. Going to pdf this all into a nice file for my nieces reference as to what is what, what it might be worth and any stories I know from Dad regarding the items.

Radio said it's National Squirrel Day today. Took down a hard maple today. About 20 minutes in, noticed a squirrel up in the tree. Then 2 squirrels. Then 4. One came down, looked up, still 4. Another one flew off the branch we were roping down, landed on the roof of the house and took off, but there were still 4 squirrels up at the top. Another one comes down after a while, but again there's still 4 squirrels at the top of the tree. 3 come down as the boss starts chunking wood down, and then the last branch had the remaining 2 squirrels that flew off on the way down and ran away.

So a total of 8 squirrels in the tree. That's a record for us.

wife was told something by a co-worker yesterday. The vaccine distribution is not being taken completely serious on many levels. Co-workers daughter is in health care and they got their vaccines, they had “leftovers” for their group so they called in people they knew like spouses and such and let them get vaccinated. So there are people who are in their early 30s, completely healthily and not in essential jobs getting vaccines already. There is supposed to be an order for priority, but it apparently isn’t being followed.

Not shocked at all.

I guess the positive is at least someone's getting them and and can help with getting transmission down.

But they really need to get it to its intended audience.

Well in today's presser, Kim said more than once that we don't want to waste vaccines.
I see the reasoning behind your example. There are time limitations on how long the vaccine can be unrefrigerated, and there have been instances where the vials contain more than the labels/info said. So there could be more actual vaccine, and not really enough time to get other members of the public called and there in time. If this was a planned process to have extra, I would complain. Otherwise, at least at this point, I'm happy it isn't being wasted and is going in the arms of people who want it.

This was at a Kansas City hospital. Guessing there were patients there that fit the next level.

Well, if it's not in Iowa, never mind, I guess. Technically, though, I have no idea where hospital patients fit in a plan. The vaccination isn't mandatory so they can't just arbitrarily be vaccinated.

Also if someone is sick iirc getting any vaccine isn't recommended.

I do remember getting the flu shot once when I had a low grade fever coming on.

The way I understood it, 65+ will be included in the new 1b tier. Sounds like Hy-Vee will be the new main distributer of vaccine, once they get some.

If you've got some left, it doesn't bother me someone getting the shot that can get there before it's been thawed too long and goes bad. But yeah stick to the schedule as close as you can.

I thought I saw that it was several Tiers within 1b with different workforces involved. Wasn't real clear but not sure how it can be right now.

Hopefully Walgreens etc. are able to start their deal too....I think they'd signed up a while ago and then it just turns into a numbers deal.

I can guarantee you the Nazi memorabilia - particularly insignia and uniform accoutrements - are worth a pile, if authentic.
