Oregon took some years off too, but I’m not sure what the metric is. Washington has been solid as well.
In the past 10 years they’ve gone 93-33 with one season under .500

USC: 83-41 with one season under .500

Stanford: 88-34 with one season under .500

Washington: 82-43 with 0 seasons under .500 (but 4 with 6 losses)

I’d say Oregon is the top team of the west.

Yeah but they lost to Mike Riley at Nebraska too.

For me just saying I don't see much difference between playing Oregon or USC or Washington. They're not like Alabama of the SEC or Clemson of the ACC or Ohio State of the B1G or Oklahoma of the B12 premier team of the region.

The USC QB was terrible was first thing I noticed.
Having watched that whole game, a lesser QB than Kedon Slovis and they would have been blown out. I was really impressed with his ability in the pocket to avoid the constant pressure he was under and still keep his eyes down field and hit on his throws.

Put Slovis (or Purdy) on the Ducks and we're undefeated right now.

They've played in 2 national championships the past decade. They had 1 year they were 4-8 and that was the year they lost on the road to Nebraska's best team in 7 years by just a FG. 6 of the last 10 years they've won 12 or more games. They are the best team out west this past decade without a doubt.

If you wanna know how Oregon fans feel a majority of them view 2020 as a joke because we lost our top 5 players due to opt outs and backed our way into the pac-12 championship. Beating usc plus signing a top 5 recruiting class basically means we are excited for this game purely for recruiting purposes and would have rather gotten any matchup with another team with a little more national appeal no offense in the off chance we were to win the game because potentially beating Iowa state doesn’t change 4 and 5 stars kids from LA’s opinions. However most Oregon fans have a great deal of respect for Matt Campbell and except a hard fought loss for the Ducks in this game.

Those insufferable folks are the ones who started the whole "Husker Nation" and thus "fan Nation" nonsense. Or is there a school out there who did it before them?
Iowa hawkeye fans say they invented everything, even the color black, so I would say the hawkeyes and have no problem blaming them for anything.

RB: A solid if not spectacular group that is normally led by CJ Verdell but he's been injured and that's been a problem of his is staying healthy each week and not missing a game or two each season. Travis Dye is his backup and Cyrus Habibi-Likio is our short yardage/goal line back. Sean Dollars has gotten more reps with Verdell out. Its a unit that can put up 200+ on the ground or struggle to hit the right gap and frustrate the heck out of us.
ISU has this magical way of healing opponent injuries. He'll be 100% healthy the entire game.

Brief search stirred up this. Not near the traffic we do but it's something.

This was an interesting comment I found: Why would anyone be bummed to play us? Oregon is the premier West Coast team. Doesn't matter if our ranking is lower than usual. A win over us is always a quality win.

'Premier' West Coast team might be a stretch but otherwise they're not necessarily wrong.

Last I knew they're the only Pac 10/12 team that's done anything for the past 10 years on a national level.

If we're being honest amidst the recent surge of success, ISU has not done well if it's a non conference P5 team and that changing would be great progress.
