OFFICIAL Going to Dallas Thread

Pro Tips on the ISU Ticket Office process:

If you see something you like, click on it to put it in your cart to save it for yourself. You can still browse to see what else is available (or at least seems to be available). You can't pick more than your limit, but you can see what hasn't been purchased yet. (if your cart is empty and you click on tickets someone else has in their cart, then it will say something about the tickets no longer being available). I found ones that I liked better, released the original ones, and grabbed the new ones. It was a bit nerve-racking, but I'm pleased with the results.

The site is a bit janky. The instruction say something about clicking the "best available sections," but when I did, I got nothing, just an empty screen that was very disconcerting. However, my tickets stayed in my cart.

The best way to navigate the site was to click on sections in the little stadium map. It was very difficult to move the cursor around on the large map. I had to click on a section (or on the image of the section in the little stadium map) to get a view of tickets available.

Pods of available tickets will change based on the number of tickets you search for. I saw mostly 4's, only a few 3's, and many 2's.

Also, I thought we were going to have to use a "best available" tool without being able to see the options, but I was able to see all pods available in the number of tickets I selected.

Made some changes to our flights last night and found United had a round trip non-stop from Chicago to DFW for $121 (and several options for $171) for late Thursday outbound and Sunday return.

Yeah, not sure if its changed, but I booked a United flight from OHare departing Friday night 7:50pm and returning Sunday 10:20am. It was $171 but I had a flight credit and got it for $40. There are a lot of cheaper options so if anybody lives in the Quad cities area, it may be worth the 2.5 hr drive to ORD to save some $.

Staying at the Howard Johnson Six Flags. Definitely looks walkable to the stadium and looks to be through kind of a convention center/park area. Any tips on best route to take.

We got Cedar Rapids to Dallas direct for $340 last Friday night. 7:15am departure land at 9:20. Leave at 8:30 Sunday.

You could cancel free for 24 hours so I booked it. Sunday morning the same itinerary was $620.

That’s where we’re staying too. The walk looks comparable to walking from the South side of Vet Med to North side of Hilton. Hoping the weather is somewhat nice so I can make the casual stroll with a beverage.

Just walk down Ballpark way until you're just past the E-Sports stadium (first in the US btw) then take the path along the lake, gets you to the NE Corner of the Cowboys Stadium.

Normally I would say not to bring a beverage because there's usually lots of youth games in that park you're walking through and parents can be.... well they can be parents. But you'll be fine in December. Just get rid of it walking onto the Cowboys grounds, them and the Rangers security are giddy about open containers.

Regardless win or lose it will be a great experience and one I'm glad to see.

Lucky to be with a group of 20 cyclone fans that will be in a suite for the game.
We've got a party bus to take us to the game, tailgate and eat and drink!
And lucky enough to be able to get 8 tickets for friends who don't donate to be able to go.
With using all my vouchers from canceled trips from April-September 250 bucks for a game in Dallas isn't a bad deal.

Im looking forward to this game...

Any idea how long it takes before you can manage your tickets from ISU Ticket Office??
OR I should say receive from SeatGeek?

It sounds like the Iowa State ticket office won't "receive" the tickets from the Big 12 until early next week. I would guess it would be around then.

Haven’t bought tickets yet. Can’t request through the university until mid-week and I assume the donors will have them eaten up by then.
Logged in this afternoon during my time. Still tickets available, but the are in the end zone. Someone else wit an earlier time got us seat is Sec 214.

The part that stinks is there are pods of 6 or 8 tickets left, quite a few. Those have to be bought as pods of 6 or 8. Those account for at least half of what is left. I would say at 4pm there were around 800 tickets left, at least 400 or more we pods ofv6 or 8.

I ended up with a pod of 4 in 202 Row 8.
