Before the BIG does or says anything they will wait and see where tOSU is rated in the CFP Rankings tonight. If somehow they fall out of the top 4 (they won't) then the BIG will scramble to get a game scheduled for tOSU. If not, eh they might just coast into the playoff.
Isn’t this a university that is supposed to teach principles and ethics?

Yeah there is a right answer and it isn’t hard. Do I have confidence that they chose the right answer absolutely not.
This is the same type of problem that is pervasive throughout our society. It’s all about me and how I can twist the rules to my advantage.
Doubt it. ISU will get another DATA POINT after beating OU which will propel us past tOSU in the rankings. It works that way, don't you know. I learned all about it in 2014 season.
Too many people have deluded themselves into thinking the CFP is about the best team. It’s not. It’s about money. If it was ever about the best team TCU never would have been shafted with the “data points” excuse. Anyone that ever thinks they will hold data points against OSU isn’t being honest with themselves. OSU is getting in at 5-0. They’ve known OSU not making the championship game due to cancellations was a realistic possibility since the first ranking came out and been nothing but a “COVID is making 2020 an unusual year” lube job for when they give a more deserving team the shaft a few weeks from now.
This. The writing is clearly on the wall. I don’t even know why there’s discussion about it really outside of expanding the playoff to make it somewhat more fair.
That’s the thing though. It’s about money and control. If they actually go through with what you are suggesting it will lead to drastic changes in the process. I don’t think they are that shortsighted. Frankly I’d love for them to force OSU in because I think that means the playoff is changed by next year. That said I think they have some semblance of competence and don’t force that.

I'm sure when Big Ten set the CCG game-minimum, they didn't expect (1) 3 of 8 Ohio State games to be canceled and (2) wouldn't have guessed both U-M and Penn State would totally suck, eroding OSU's schedule strength. Probably would have set the minimum even lower or not had that rule at all (but that could've opened a whole separate can of worms if situations were different).
I just want to beat OU and barely care after that.
