***Official College Football Playoff Rankings***

Why would they? ESPN will push the CFP to put a 5-0 OSU into the playoff based on “eye test” (see my previous post). The Big 10 has nothing to gain by forcing OSU to play in the conference championship game.

I think they have a metric **** ton to gain by having OSU in their Championship game.

Nothing to gain when a 5-0 sans Big 10 championship OSU will gain entry into the CFP. Everything to lose if a weak West team (NW) proves a 5-1 OSU team to be fraudulent.

Is the B1G still going their stupid +1 Pigtails? They could be matched up against Iowa in that scenario.
The Iowa that hasn't really beat anyone either, that seems to be getting tons of love from the committee.

The CFP committee doesn't need to do any "mental gymnastics" regarding OSU in their top 4. They will put them in their regardless of how many games they play. Id doing this CFP has acknowledged it doesn't matter how games a team plays, if they believe that team is good. They have proven it isn't about that "extra data point". Those teams don't have to prove anything to the CFP, so there's no incentive for that team to play at all.

I predict that the Big 10 will not schedule another game for OSU because, why do they need to?

Winner. The CFP committee, in how they have ranked OSU, has told them they don't need to play anymore games. In fact, when the committee released their first playoff ranking OSU only had played 4 games, and had them ranked 4th.

Disagree completely. Unless the CFP is ready to come out and just say "yeah we've been full of **** all year until now", there is no way a 5-0 Ohio State gets in. They've flat our said number of games played is a factor and year after year they have valued conference championship games immensely. IMO Ohio State need to either be 6-0 or 7-0 with conference title to get in.

Even having this conversation is wild to me. I would've said that a 2 loss Big12 team is hosed, but it's isn't impossible.

What are the Odds:
Alabama Wins out: 80%
Ohio State Loses One or misses: 20%
ND Wins 50%
ISU Wins 33% (I think it's actually higher, but I'm a homer)

That's 2% chance, which I'll take at this point.
That’s about what I think the CFP prediction models seem to have for ISU.

It is crazy we are talking about this at all. People really need to get over this idea how ISU will always be screwed. There are CF people that have said for years no way a 1-loss ISU would ever get in. Hell, there are people that thought an Undefeared ISU would get left out of a hypothetical playoff. Yet, even in a shortened season, with two losses, coming out of the conference that went 0-3 vs the Sunbelt, with none of those losses coming from the best Sunbelt team, there’s a good chance ISU is 7 or 8 tonight and is the top 2 loss team in the country.

If everything goes according to chalk, Ohio State will get in, regardless of how many games they have played. It's too much money and too many viewers to leave them out. If the Big 12 champion was undefeated, or the Pac12 had played more of a season and they were also undefeated, then maybe. But if Alabama wins the SEC, and Clemson beats ND in the ACC, those three get in, and then who is the committee reasonably going to put in? Cincinnati? A 2 loss SEC team?

To be clear, this is GARBAGE and RIDICULOUS. This shouldn't be what happens, but it will be. The Big 10 is a JOKE of a football conference and the protection they receive from media, CFP committee, and everyone else is ABSURD. But it is real and here to stay.

5-0 OSU won’t get in. Someone will jump them. Yes the committee jumped the gun with OSU and the big 10, but they were projecting. While they shouldn’t have done it, if OSU is 5-0 they will need to rethink what they’ve done with the PAC too.

Well I don’t think it makes a difference but that piece had to fall in to place for our slimmest of slim hopes at this point imo.
If OSU doesn’t play NW In the CCG won’t they play the UW-Iowa winner? Whoever wins UW Iowa won’t be that far below NW in the rankings so it is probably less about who they play the last game as it is only having 6 games.

I don’t get this confidence the CFP committee puts OSU in without playing in the conference title game. If they do that then the whole thing changes because people freak out. This would be the same scenario as the Oklahoma State year. It would cause the change to happen.

5-0 OSU with 1 good win and no conference championship isn't getting in. 6-0 OSU with 2 good wins (maybe Indiana x2 or Indiana/Iowa) may get in. But we do know that the committee prioritizes CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS over eye test.

MAKE IT HAPPEN!

If this doesn't happen.
