I love Jirehl Brock

Brock will see his day & not transfer. He is on special teams & occasionally in the backfield. If Hall keeps up with 100+ per game & gets national media love, it’s not out of the question that he leaves. I hope not but I am guessing Chuba H hasn’t raised his NFL status by returning.

He can't leave after this year. Have to be out of high school for 3 years.

Hall will be gone after next year, this year doesn't really count towards eligibility so if he wants, he can still have 3 years as the starter after Breece is gone. I think we'll see a lot of from him over the next few years.

So a RS freshman, who plays a little and is behind a player getting Heisman talk and a senior doing good things should be dissatisfied with his playing time? His time will come. He is an injury away from being a feature back. I would like to see him out there situationally more, but it's hard to argue with the results we've had. Maybe after the bye week.

Ummmm... No.

I dont think that is an unreasonable question at all. The difference between these guys may be completely due to one having an extra several months to get a head start, and Breece has maximized his opportunity as a starter. Jirehl was just as highly regarded in HS and I expect will be a stud whenever it is his turn

Breece didn't start playing at this type of level until the 6th game of the year last year. Breece is an All-American type back and you could honestly argue he's the best back in the nation right now. So you're saying that if Jirehl came early like Breece, he'd be doing what Breece is doing? I highly highly doubt that.

That's no disrespect to Jirehl either. He's going to get his time. Nwangu playing extremely well hurt Jirehl's chances of seeing the field much this year.

No, I'm not saying he would. Im saying its not a silly question. Jirehl was rated higher in HS and was the player of the year in Illinois, so who's to say what he will become when/if the starter. We had David just two years ago and now Breece, is it so hard to believe we have two studs right now as well?

Believe me, extra practice isn't what sets Breece apart from his team mates and the rest of the country for that matter.

I think Jirehl's going to be really good. And although it's not impossible to say Jirehl would be doing what Breece is doing, it'd be a little bit wishful thinking. I'm not too worried about high school status when you consider they were real close in their rankings.

Trust me, I hope you're right and Jirehl will produce like Breece is doing, but these are Heisman numbers we're seeing from Breece. Legit Heisman numbers.

Didn't Brock get some carries early on last year before they redshirted him? Seemed like they tried a few different guys and Hall just beat everyone out and they went with him the rest of the season.

How about using Brock as a punt returner instead of Eisworth? I just get a little nervous Greg will get hurt and then we won't have him on defense.

Jirehl won't go anywhere this offseason. He's gonna be second string next year and the starter the following year

Breece was the staff favorite before either of them even made it on campus. Jirehl is no slouch but the fact that Breece has become a star is of no surprise to the staff.

Greg's smart enough to just take the fair catch unless he knows he can pick up 10+ yards, like he did Saturday.
