Okay, lets rank 'em after your win over OU ...

OSU is the best team in the league, but they still have to play OU and UT.

KSU is second IF Skylar is ready to play, if not, they drop down. They already beat OU and get both UT and OSU at home, but they do have to come to Ames.

ISU is 3rd, but we have the most difficult schedule, must go to both UT and OSU.

TCU big win at UT, but still have to play OSU and OU.

UT struggling and should be 0-2 in the league, got a miracle win at TT last week.

OU must beat UT this weekend in Dallas, for ISU we better hope they do, and give UT its 2nd loss.

WVU got the win vs Baylor, so you have to put them ahead of Rape U.

Baylor, finding its difficult when you lose the whole defense and the head coach. Not going to find a way to win close games this year like last year.

TT Pesky team, can score, glad we play them at home. QB was hurt again yesterday, will be interesting to see how they start Saturday.

UK getting closer to the start of BB season with each passing day, gives them something to hope for.

I agree with that but it's a big 'if' on Skylar. K-State's schedule is reasonable now with OU out of the way and, yes, UT and oSu in Manhattan. But Farmageddon awaits and that will surely be another black-unie game plus trips to Ft. Worth, Morgantown, and Waco.

Always a mistake to compare scores, but it looks like OSU is the team to beat this year. As other stated the favorites OU and TX do not look that good. OU is at 0-2 and TX should be. I look for OU to take it to TX in the Red River. KSU and ISU looks to be pretty much a push. Being in Ames helps, especially if they can have fans again. That loss to Louisiana really hurts.

Next week will be interesting. Either OU loses 3 in a row or Texas loses 2 in a row.
Standing with good people everywhere to root against texa$. So annoying to see them get all the preseason hype based on nothing but name value. Plus Jeremiah George

klieman refuses to say anything about skylar's injury. but without him, k-state goes from contender to pest. it looked to me to be a collarbone break, which means 6 weeks. on the other hand, it could be a shoulder separation which is kinda week-to-week. if it was a collarbone, one would think klieman would say so. whatever the case, it was a cheap shot by the techster.

The one by KSU on Bowman was much worse. The Tech guy just went for a hit, the Wildcat went for a much more dangerous shot.

Why doesn’t KU just publicly acknowledge the truth say “F*ck it, we don’t give a sh*t”. We all know it’s true

KU might be the worst big 12 team ever

To be fair, ISU has had a couple of few teams in contention for that.

That said (and at the risk of tempting karma), KU's program is in a dreadful spot. We all know how down ISU FB was in the 1990s. Well, KU in the 20-Teens is even worse.

ISU 1990-99: 27-80-3
KU 2010-19: 21-99

--> sorry for thread sidetracking.

Whoars don’t like calling themselves whoars.
KU is more like that flat chested “chick” at the bar with tied hair make up turns and looks at you and all you see is an Adam’s apple

Ranking teams this early in the season is always a crap shoot. On a normal year, we see teams regress to the mean a bit, as talent takes over late in the year.

That helps a team like Iowa State. Fewer games means we don't have to pit our depth against the blue blood teams OU/Texas.

I think if OSU and KSU have healthy QBs they are tough to beat. There are several others that will be in contention this season because nobody is elite. Honestly, I think there's 6 teams that have a shot at the title. We're one of them

So, I rewatched the K-State/TxT game just now. Skylar was hit in the left shoulder, fell on his right side, with the TxT guy on top, got up after a time, and went to the locker. When he came out, his right shoulder was in a sling. So, since he was hit on the left, it's more likely a right shoulder issue than a broken collarbone.

No one in purple wanted to see him get sidelined with an injury, but that’s exactly what happened when Texas Tech linebacker Riko Jeffers drilled him with a late and arguably dirty hit ... When Thompson emerged from the locker room after halftime, he did so in street clothes with a sling on his right arm.

It’s possible he will miss additional games this season. For now, though, his status is a question mark.

“I do not have any update on Skylar,” K-State coach Chris Klieman said afterward, “other than they said he was just out.” KCStar

What you described and how it went down sounds to me like a broken right collarbone. The force on the landing usually pops the opposite side.

I've had four broken collarbones. It takes a pretty good shot. And Skylar went down in a way that didn't look like the ground could have caused it. Again, if it was broken, I'd think Klieman would say so. We'll know soon enough. Would have been nice to have a bye week rather than going to Ft. Worth next Saturday. Cats are 10-point dogs going into that one.
