reservation lake, mn
OU - a rattler is dangerous
oSu - postponed
Texas- played to form
ISU - high expectations, low performance
WVU - played and pummeled a pitiful team
K-State - dreadful showing complicated by c'virus
Baylor - postponed
TCU - postponed
TxT - damn near lost not to Waco but Houston's Baptists
Ku - low expectations, played lower

Overall, the league is a bit of a laughingstock today and rightly so. Only the top three seem to have any hope of competing for the B12 title. And we haven't seen the Pokes yet. But, it's as early as can be, and we have hope for the future if nothing else.

What were KSU’s coronavirus complications?

It sounded to me like ASU was missing several players.
K-State had 23 out and lost its senior captain center in the first quarter. Losing the only senior probably made things worse. Why that many were out was not disclosed. One has to presume c'virus. Two missed field goals. Dropped or missed passes. No run game. Yuko. In the end, Arkansas State was better than what K-State fielded Saturday, so they lost.

Louisiana was picked 1st in their division, Arkansas State 2nd. Coastal Carolina 5th in theirs. Just an embarrassing day for our conference.

East Division
1. App State (9) - 49 pts
2. Georgia Southern - 36 pts
3. Troy (1) - 32 pts
4. Georgia State - 20 pts
5. Coastal Carolina - 13 pts

West Division
1. Louisiana (7) - 47 pts
2. Arkansas State (2) - 40 pts
3. South Alabama (1) - 22 pts
4. Texas State - 21 pts
5. ULM - 20 pts

Interesting. I didn’t and still haven’t found any articles about KSU missing players.

I did see one about Arkansas State missing 9 starters though.

Idk why I clicked on this thread. After Saturday, I’m in no mood for Surlys weird crap.

My role here is to get you guys off your problems and on my considerable ass, so to speak, while keeping dudes like TheJackWePac5 straight.
I feel like I need to save this to remind you that you said this.

I would imagine that players in quarantine or having COVID would not be on the sidelines or doing really any team activities at all...

So your 23 inactives who presumably had Covid were all standing on the sideline? You Kansas people are stupider than I thought.
I was not at the game. But I suspect a lot of this is contact tracing stuff required by the B12 or internally.

Here below is a post by someone who was at the game which, in my opinion, K-State should not have played. Klieman said Friday afternoon that he didn't know if he had the required number of players.

The point remains, we're reading too much into this first outing. ISU is historically a slow starter. K-State was missing too many players. And, Ku should be in the Big East.

If you were at the game you saw all of the guys not suited up standing down there in t-shirts with their number on the back. It sure seemed like more than 23, but who knows. I know Duke, Youngblood, Jacardia were all down there.

As soon as our team went to the sideline before the opening kick, my buddies and I were like "where the heck are all the players, honestly the sideline looked like a 3A high school, looked like we had about 25 guys suited up. Was obviously more than that, but didn't seem like it.

Heck, we played much of the game with DJ Render running at WR, who switched to DB two years ago. On the last drive, we were in 4 wides, with two TE's split out? At the end of the game, we had two healthy WR's in Taylor and Brooks. Obviously we were way down at safety also with Jones getting hurt and JMac on the sidelines.

That is why I am not making any assumptions about coaching at this point. Some want to already question Kleiman, Klanderman, etc. Come on, they don't know who can practice from one day to the next? They didn't even know if they could play the game 18 hours before kick? Anyone that has coached freaking t-ball would know how difficult that would be.

Cyclones played without their best player. Why didn't you include that?

So your loss had nothing to do with COVID as you implied, correct?
