It went from zero to a hundred really quickly out here.

The issue is that current policy is for the forests and state/fed land as is...no preventative burns. The drier conditions, likely an effect of the warming climate, along with lower humidity, fosters the explosive fire growth.

While many say bring back the preventative burns, there is a significant liability issue if a burn gets out of control...

Unfortunately this is one of those things that doesnt go away after 2020 does. These are going to keep happening with climate change drying out these forests.

Bingo! And just like with Covid, not believing in, and trusting in the science will doom us all folks.

It really is a crazy experience out there though. I drove through there in august 2018 when there were a bunch of fires in northern california\southern oregon. Couldnt see more than a few car lengths ahead at times, and driving the redwood highway by the glow of the flames was absolutely surreal. ****** my lungs up for a week. My sister sent me a couple pictures yesterday of the sun being almost completely blocked out in the middle of the day and a yellow color about everything.

This one is crazy to me because i took almost the exact photo last november
