We will learn a lot of things as the virus continues. Your right information in May and June are more current, but who was right and who was wrong about issues such as predicted mortality of the disease will give us a past track record. It might give us insight to and who not to listen to about the disease.

When we look at issues such as attending large sporting events we might want to look at what actual data tells us.

You’ve not provided anything to indicate outdoor sporting events with shoulder to shoulder crowds are beneficial to controlling the coronavirus. I’ll be very interested in seeing that study.

This was an actual interview with 4 of Houston's largest hopsital CEO's and their comments. I think they would have a good handle on capacity issues. They are urging caution but indicate they are more than equipped to handle any potential surge. Your article is referencing one hospital or hospital system. The article below is a much broader picture representing multiple hospitals.

Indeed, they wrote a letter that worries people and the next day this came out. I’m sure no political pressure came on them...
You did see the letter the same 4 CEOs wrote the day before right?

I do think people that see both pieces can come to different conclusions on the severity. Is this a case of the CEO's walking back what they intended to say based on an unexpected response or did they expect it to be reported a little differently with respect to choice of words?

I’m guessing they were very careful in creating that letter and used the word “overwhelmed” of their own volition. Are you suggesting they’re really not concerned at all, nothing to see here kind of thing?

Everyone in lockdown, or those that are older and have known medical conditions? We now have good evidence there is very little risk to those under 50-60. Even in some of those older age groups where there is not a serious medical condition, the results are not near as severe.

So nobody should be going to football games? Or fill the stadiums with people that have typically exhibit asymptomatic or mild results from the virus?

The solution is very simple! Make it a law to wear a damn mask (highly effective), Wash your hands frequently, follow social distancing, and test everybody. Trump brags about 25 million Americans have been tested (big efing deal) and that we need to slow down the testing. China tested practically the entire population of Wuhan (11 million) in about 10 days and has been testing about 1 million citizens of Beijing lately. WHY has wearing a mask become politicized??

Everyone will advise to use some kind of caution, the question is to what extent. I don't know what the thoughts when drafting the letter if it accurately reflected what they wanted to communicate or not.

You seemed pretty sure of their intent before being given more information. Wonder where your original information came from that you missed the entire reason it happened?

I just re-read what you wrote too and I was mistaken. I apologize.

You are correct in the fact that politicians are making the decisions therefore it is politicized. Unfortunately because of the fact that both sides have their own motives around this it is causing more noise than actually helping people while causing more divide.

The left would like to keep things closed and economy down and peoples live's tough during an election year because it would favor them and their candidate. While the right will do anything to open everything to get the economy and give people freedom back.

It was very apparent in the stimulus bills that were passed considering how much pork was included that had nothing to do with Covid or relief. The whole system and politicians involved are pathetic and care mostly because it is an election year and thats it.

I have been following Alex Berenson and Josh Ketter more recently on twitter. They tend to dig a little deeper into things instead of just reporting total cases are rising.
