What position do you think Harris will play? Unless you want a grad transfer
On this team, he's a point guard. Bolton at the 2. Jackson spelling each and playing 20-25mpg. Honestly I could also see PG duties being a by committee type of deal, with guys alternating running the offense and bringing the ball up. My guess would be a starting lineup in game 1:

Harris (barring a waiver/ transfer rule change)
Bolton
Johnson
Conditt
Young

This doesn't really allow us to play 4 out like prohm likes, but it seems like the most logical season tipoff lineup.

You could slide Johnson to the 4 and move Jackson in at the 3, but I don't think playing 3 guys 6'2" under is a recipe for long term success. Jackson, to me, is a perfect 3 and D guy 6th man for us this year. Let's hope that role is enough to keep him happy

I don’t think Conditt/Young starting works. At that point we might as well go huge and go Bolton/Foster/Johnson/Conditt/Young. We really need to hit on a 2/3 or 3 with size that works either Dubar/Blackwell/tbd because as we stand now going huge is our only matchup problem that we can create.

The Coach is still Prohm
And just landed a 4 star recruit that two years ago (people I'm sure including you)said he was crazy for taking a 3 star haliburton over a ready to commit Harris, haters gonna hate, but we just got the best of both worlds

lol he’s a PG.
lol, you and your fantasies! Like Johnson is a point forward, which hopefully isn’t similar to the notion Wigginton would be a pg!

Harris got moved off ball at Memphis, and you can see why from his stats and from watching their games. Memphis basketball commentators have also suggested he’s not a pg (or even top player) on a good high major team.

Perhaps he’ll improve, but significant improvement is needed if he’s our starting pg and we are to have success. There’s a better chance Jackson is our pg imo.

under the circumstances, this is a nice pick up, but I don't think this is a game changer or huge impact player for us. He seems like he has to improve to be better than the top level Big 12 guards he will face.

That’s good news for our guard recruits like Harris and Brown. And if Brown and another one of these guys we’re after play at ISU next year, Prohm will be here for awhile!

But we just lost 4 star recruit in Lewis and a top-150 recruit in Grill!

Well, I’m excited to get him, even though I think he’s better suited for a bench role on a good Big 12 team. Bolton will have off nights, and now we have Harris to pick up the slack.

Some of the hyperbole here is likely due to finally getting someone, and thinking he’s valued the same as the 4-star high school recruit we know him as. Without improved pg skills, Harris is a nice addition, but presents some of the same risks as Nixon. A small backcourt with Bolton, that still needs a pg. presumably he’s a better shooter than Nixon, but so was Nixon at this time last year.

Harris and Johnson is already much better than the Lewis, Grill and Zion trio

But their high school ratings!!!!

One would hope they’re better. How much better will greatly impact if Prohm has success.

Didn’t Harris have Southern Alabama as a finalist? Remember when we were making fun of beating out them for recruits? He could have joined Lewis! And Johnson is another player from that conference?

I know Baylor reached out right away when he entered the portal as well as some other big names. Not sure who his final suitors were honestly. Kid had a quiet transfer recruiting process and its hard to tell with no visits

Some have argued Harris is not a point guard, but two things to remember is Prohm is good with guards, especially point guards, and Prohm plays two combo guards, so Harris will max out at ISU. Likely splitting PG duties with someone else.

Reach out isn’t noteworthy in the spring. Most programs reach out to dozens of kids. And quiet is often a sign off the desired interest not being there.

Doesn’t matter much. If Prohm thinks he can help, he likely will. Hopefully not due to ISU not being a good high major team, as some Memphis people have said. I mean, people didn’t think Nixon was a high major starter- did he prove us wrong?

I look forward to him going off some nights, stepping up when Bolton is off or the defense has taken him away. Prohm needs to know what buttons to push on the usage dynamics and when to play the hot hand. Not a strength of his imo
