Random Thoughts 14: I can see clearly now 2020 edition

This may border on the political, but I think we can handle it in here. There is a reddit post of a little scene from a caucus in NE Iowa. I am proud that my sister is the person who is very politely dealing with a woman who was upset and wanted her card back because after voting for Mayor Pete after she discovered that he was married to a spouse of the same sex. I'm not trying to voice support for any candidate, nor to delve into the religious beliefs of anyone--I'm just proud of my sis. Cool story Bro, I know. It is just not every day that I open a thread in the cave and see video of my sister and my nephew.
link to the thread? I don't reddit, and there are a LOT of posts in the cave to wade through. I am interested in the story and the end result though. :)

Paid the first of the three payments for the kids U Bill last weeks. Reminds me that I should round up the funds for that. Go see how many refundable cans we have. 5 cents a can, means 20 cans per dollar. Hopefully we have the 120 cans out in the garage for that. I like this years scholarships, next year will stink. Then the year after that will be two kids and I will just ball up and cry monthly.

You could always take a second job as a male escort.

I would be getting the same ones a deuce biggalo. The terrets one wouldn't be as bad, cute and would keep it interesting. How many dates would I need for 6 bucks?

Reminds me of the joke about the couple who couldn't make ends meet, so she decided to walk the streets. The first night the hubby decided to wait up for her. About 6AM she straggles in, looking terrible. She empties her pockets onto the table, which consisted of a $20 bill and a quarter. The hubby says, "Well, for your first night I guess it wasn't too bad. Who in the hell paid you a quarter?"

The wife replies, "Everybody."

Thanks!
She handled that very well. From the comments the other woman made, I don't think she will be changing her outlook in this lifetime. And I find that sad.

I was confused by the one buttegig (sp?) sticker and two Amy (Im assuming Klobachur) stickers she had on. I think she is unsure what is going on. I totally agree that PB did not try to hide his sexuality one bit at all.

One of things I have learned by experience is that for every finger I point at someone, ten get pointed back at me. I can't call out others for their actions (well, except maybe for tRump) because I don't want others judging me.

This woman hasn't quite arrived there yet.

I watched that on Twitter, she did handle herself very well. Would have been hard to keep your cool while trying to be respectful.
I can only imagine taking LittleWx to one of those. He would come out looking like the county party float in the city parade with 18 stickers from every candidate on.
My oldest helped with registration at our precinct then observed since she will be 17 1/2 at election time. Most of the other “observers” were kids. Candidates had tables with water/stickers/candy and she overheard one kid tell their parents “I was just at the candy table!”
