Coach Prohm Gets Extension

You mean the year we lost to UAB in the 1st round? Yeah we have plummeted from that high bar!

I would take that season and game over this season any day. Not sure what your point is. Finished second in the conference, won the big 12 tourney over a top 10 KU team, had a top 10 AP ranking ourselves. Niang played a horrible game at a bad time.

You are right. I will admit I have probably rode to high of standards for the program since about Monte's 2nd season. Its been a hard fall back to reality. I just have to deflated feeling like I did during the Greg McDermott years though. Been tough to shake.

We are no where close to the Greg McDermott years. To remind you of what those were like. We had 1 top 25 win in 4 years...1 and it was I believe the last regular season game of his tenure. He was a joke.

Not sure what decisions he expects to be made next week, unless one of them were to hire an agent. I fully expect all 3 to declare and go through the process, so we wouldn’t know officially until sometime in May (I think).

I'm not so sure. The emotions of that year were basically, "Last year we were a Final Four team but Niang got injured. Next it is all about getting back to the NCAA tourney." That UAB loss was by far the biggest sting in a loss I have had since Hampton. The whole year was about getting back to the tourney to make another run and when we did we laid the biggest egg.

This year, the team showed they could be wildly inconsistent. I thought they could beat Ohio State but given a few days am I shocked a team that had some of the highest highs on the last few years and lowest lows got upset in the NCAA tourney? Disappointed, frustrated, etc. But not shocked.

Woo we got the Paul Rhoads of the hard wood till 2025. Lowering expectation meter drastically.

New settings calibrated at 5th place in the conference, first round NCAA tourney loss, with 60% likelihood of bubble team.

Hilton attendance down roughly 3% APY

Frustration of inbounds plays, offensive execution, and off court drama up roughly 10% APY.

Going to be a great half decade guys.

Great news is, it’s a voluntary activity. Since it brings you such misery, you can avoid the pain.

Kinda like you did when we were winning

Depends what the expectations are. Is just making the tournament enough? We should aspire to accomplish more than that.

Georges' senior year we should could/should have done better than Sweet Sixteen. Monte's senior year we could/should have done better than 2nd round exit. Those two teams were LOADED. Last year sucked. This year we were a great weekend in KC away from being pretty disappointed overall.

I'm glad we kept Prohm because the continuity is nice and I'd rather than him than TJ Otzelberger but we definitely have room for improvement going forward.

Wow, it’s amazing how you guys continue to beat the same old made up ****.

Continuity is good. The way he represents the university is nice. But his main job is to coach. I'm just not convinced he's worth a 6-year extension with what we know. Would've liked to see how we perform next year first.

If we have a roster of Lard, Wigginton, THT, Solo, Jacobsen, Haliburton and Conditt back, the expectation needs to be higher than 23-12 and fifth in Big12. If the university is going to invest in continuity, I'd like to see our coach show continuity in the way our roster plays. Consistent effort, players held accountable in-game, strategic development. He's a high-major recruiter and a high school level strategist. That works at the mid-major level. But in one of the best conferences with lots of great coaches, that's a shaky formula. He needs to improve, and I don't think we needed to commit to such a lengthy thing without getting another season of information. It sounds like SP is a good life coach. But he has a lot of growing to do to become a good game coach.

If those thoughts make me a "hater" and not a concerned fan that hasn't seen in-game ability from a COACH, so be it. I foresee a lot of *dislike* coming but few/no rebuttals.

When you’re ******* stupid, there doesn’t need to be any rebuttal. You’re just ******* stupid.

I would fully expect Wigginton, and THT to declare and go through the process. If I was Prohm, I would encourage Halliburton, Lard, and Jacobsen to as well.

I don't get why the whole team just doesn't do it, honestly. Why not get an idea where NBA execs think you are?

Having different opinions makes you a dummy. Got it. Love how sanctimonious everyone is about prohm. You either love him or you’re an idiot, not a real fan, give up your season tix, etc.

It’s like you’re allowed to have one opinion on a message board

Ah yes the “I have stupid opinions leave me alone guys” defense. Stop crying.
