What was the adjustment to be made? Serious question, rebounding is desire and effort, what about what happened was adjustable?

Honestly, if that’s the true problem, it’s a deeper issue than a simple X’s and o’s adjustment.

But maybe putting one guy on the floor that’s over 6’4” at a time would be a crazy idea. We’ve been getting worked on the boards since the beginning of the Hoiberg area by playing small. The difference is this team has stretches where the offense is so bad that playing small doesn’t matter.

This has been going on for awhile now. Very frustrating we can’t figure out a consistent option here. Bonus points if you go at Lindell.
Doesn't matter who you go at. The entire defense falls apart. If you miss the lay up chances are Lard tried to block it and took himself out of rebounding position. If we stop the dribble penetration Shayok or one of the freshman is two steps slow on the rotation. Lard nor Jacobson can handle defending ball screen actions which compounds the problem.

Fair point - our two bigs (Jacobson and Lard) combined for 6 total rebounds. Six.

But maybe try Conditt. Maybe crash and bring even more guards down. I don’t know. Maybe you are right that it’s more effort...which sucks worse.

"Maybe you are right that it’s more effort...which sucks worse." Shayok just said as much in the post game interviews.

I don't think you can really fix rebounding with a game time adjustment. It is something that has to be taught and worked on before hand, just like any other skill or strategy.

When teams pressure the offensive glass, it seems that ISU just doesn't know what to do, or doesn't have the will to do what needs to be done. As someone mentioned in the game thread, the opponent puts up a shot, pressures the glass, and 2-3 ISU guys are standing around, having lost their man. Really frustrating to watch.

Drew knows how to exploit bad rebounding technique, and it seems that he always has the personnel on his team to do it.

This team is the smoking hot girlfriend that you find yourself falling in love with, but every time you leave for the weekend she bangs some other dude. She earns your trust back with a mind blowing "performance" only to do the same thing with some other dude that lives in his mom's basement and drives an AMC Pacer.

And the term "Hilton Magic" needs to be suspended entirely until it is earned again. This crap is an insult to the legend of what that actually was. Damn shame.

Prohm is so bad he was able to turn a front running B12 team and sleeper final four talent to complete meh. Doesn't matter what this team does rest of the regular season. And winning the conference tourney will be spit a in the face.

This is just a ridiculous post. Who in the actual **** turned the last place team into a final four sleeper?

You can’t continue to use the hard hedge when it was very clear that Baylor has solved the puzzle and was getting open looks galore from 3. It was a nice initially adjustment then Drew solved it and then we never made the next adjustment. Baylor is a good squad but it is frustrating to see the most talented team in the Big 12 losing at home so frequently.

Prohm needs to learn to play two post players against team like Baylor and also throw in Conditt for few a mins. He has the length and athleticism to get a few rebounds.

He would rather run 4 guards and get completely abused in the paint and on the boards than make a change. He did the exact same thing in 2016-17, luckily he had Solomon Young to at least give them some inside presence and they salvaged the season. He doesnt even have that now, Jacobson can't compete with Big 12 bigs and Lard cant stay on the floor long enough to be effective.

Prohms to soft on these guys. They’ll take tomorrow off, light practice Thursday, walk through Friday and get our asses kicked by a TCU team that plays damn hard and needs a win to get into the tourney. This is what we get under Prohm. He’s had three very good teams and they’ve all underachieved. Looking like we will always be a 9-12 loss team.

Coach Scott Drew looks like someone who should be your dentist, but sure can college basketball. Just controlled the tempo of the game, and suffocated us on both sides of the court! You can hate the guy, but he sure is good...
I can't hate him. He seems like a good dude. Annoying to lose to his teams, but you just gotta tip your cap to him

So disappointing of the blown opportunities this season; gifts presented as home games vs mediocre teams. Unreal to think beating TCU and BU in Hilton would gift us to first place. I'll puke if KU pulls this off.
