Not exactly sure.
The vixen and I are planning on adding a room to the back of the house, and we'll have a fireplace. We both agree that it will be a woodburner - there's nothing like that heat. Yeah, it'll be a lot of work for me, but heaven knows I could use the exercise. :)

My dad chopped and split firewood for an aunt into his mid 60s (died at 66 so who knows how much longer). She used a wood burner to heat, although her son married in and took over a large construction company and became very wealthy. He wouldn't even just go buy his mom a furnace, or chop the wood for her.

My parents heated their home with a woodburning stove (near Humboldt, until they moved to Wisconsin in 1992). So I remember many, many days of cutting wood, hauling wood, splitting wood, stacking wood, etc. My dad's favorite saying while we working at this was "This wood will warm us twice."
Mine did too, until about 5 years ago. In fact, the wood burner is still piggybacked onto the gas furnace, just in case they need to start using it again.

yeah I figure most babies are in sleep n plays 95% anyway. Sometimes his classmates have on real clothes and I'm like overachievers over here.

We always just said other kids. I didn't think they were learning that much. My wife always had bibs or such on the kid when we went out. Wasn't a lot of fun to change diapers as you had a hundred snaps to undo and resnap each time.

We still do. We have electric heat, but it's set at about 60. We use the fireplace to bring the temp up some.

My Dad built an extra room on our house growing up and had a large fireplace put in. I could get a fire going in there that would heat half the house. The people that bought it had it filled in with a wood stove attachment. House7.jpg

Just looked at mine, December is alway big because I wait and do charity stuff at the last minute. Throw in two airline tickets and it was 4X my monthly norm.

Did save some money though with Pants moving to D.C. Don't have to buy that nice gift bottle of Macallan scotch now.
