Official Bowl Watch thread

What about this scenario:

ISU wins out and wins the Big 12 Championship. Georgia wins out and beats Bama in the SEC Championship. Clemson, Michigan and Notre Dame all win out. Playoffs include Georgia, Clemson, Michigan and Notre Dame.

ISU vs Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.

No chance Bama gets left out. Wouldn't drop past 4, probably 3.

Michigan or ND...depending if they use the comparing 1 loss teams rational or comparing teams that didn't win a conference (extra data point).
I would thoroughly enjoy watching all the Big 10 homers freak out over one of their teams getting left out.

Might just be me but NC State and Syracuse really don’t get me that excited. I’m sure they are good teams but can we get a name with some clout once?

I think both of those teams would be hungry and I know we will be hungry and that is what makes a good bowl game imo. I think both of teams would travel okay as well.

I see what you're saying, but for Camping World, we'd be locked into ACC-Big 12 setup, It so happens this season, teams like Miami and Florida State aren't going to reach that level. Those would be more compelling opponents, historically speaking.

I'd be happy to see us avenge our NC State bowl loss by beating them in Orlando.

IMO the SEC is best conference, so I had no problem last year when Bama and Georgia where in the playoff. Same goes this year if Georgia would beat Bama in the SEC Championship game. But I think the Big10, Big12 and Pac12 commissioners need to step in and require that the ACC and SEC play 9 conference games to make the playing field level. I think elite Big10, Big12, and Pac12 teams would love to have 3 patsies on their schedules. Look at the elite SEC non-conference schedules and # of home games for the season

LSU - Miami FL, Rice, LA Tech & SE LA (8 Home Games)
Bama - Louisville, Ark St, ULL, Citadel (8 Home Games)
Georgia - Austin Peay, MTSU, UMass & Ga Tech (8 Homes Games)

Sure some other elite schools will have 8 homes games in a season, but the next season it will be 7 because they will have 5 conference road games.

Reactions: Cardinal and Gold
Agreed, but would still much rather see a name like NC State over say Tulsa, Rutgers, or Memphis.
Or Boise St and Miami of Ohio. Only 1 of our last 7 bowl games have been against programs from major conferences at that time.

Notre Dame beat Michigan. They also had an easier time with Northwestern than Michigan did. Michigan would get left out.

I would love to see another #15 qb for Iowa state get revenge over that blown call against Florida state

With as much as we've been hosed in the NCAA tourney, it's weird we don't have some sort of bad blood with 'cuse.
