I have to laugh - I get more "dislikes" on the Football survivor thread than anywhere else.
Maybe it's because for the last couple of years, I've joined the trend of posting a picture of half-naked students from the school I'm picking, much like most of the other participants.
Do you suppose it's because the students in their pictures have bewbs, while the ones in my pictures have moobs?

She's still a long ways away from that. We just visited St Olaf and she really liked that. She still wants to see Wisconsin, Creighton and maybe Marquette.
There is a joke in here about a woman and too many choices but I won't make it.

Not sure why that is posted in ISR. If you can't handle ISR just opt out. There's a reason why the opt out option exists for that forum.
We all know you need pretty thick skin on CF in general. You need a suit of armor for ISR

That'd be OK, potentially. If I remember right, they're just working via adjuncts or something right now.
Either way, when I see a FT position, I generally apply. That means a grand total of 3 this fall.
In other words, this is a really bleak semester for the job market. Nobody wants a 19th Century US historian right now. It's probably Valpo or find something else to do.

I really liked Wisconsin, and I had friends who were at St. Olaf and Marquette who absolutely loved it. I’m kind of biased towards St. Olaf since it’s a lot like Wooster
I'm not going to deny that it is a little cringy but JLH, and especially the gifs she's in, are pretty much caricatures. That's probably not a super-sensitive thing to say.
Neither Woo's comment nor yours appear all that unreasonable to me. In a sense, you're saying that JLH giffing is like making it a Spiderman thread. But objectification of women is more problematic than objectification of fictitious superheros. Therefore, I apologize to the Ladies of RTT for having posted "MOAR JLH!" in the "Goodbye" thread. It was a thoughtless and insensitive act on my part.
Yeah, it probably depends on how you’re doing it. If you’re doing it like posting spider man gifs it’s a lot more funny. It just comes across as weird/cringy when there’s that ogling aspect
