Ugh.

So husband's grandma is in a nursing home...and has been for nearly a year. (She was having mini-strokes) Grandpa has been visiting her nearly every day, and Grandpa has seemingly been doing okay for a 90 yo. Now, we just got the news that he has prostate cancer. From what we heard, his regular doctor hadn't been checking for it. Soooo...there's that. Not sure if they can treat it...not sure how long he has...it just sucks.

We're all gonna get prostate cancer eventually. The doctor told my dad that old age would kill him before the cancer.

It depends on what stage, how diffuse it is, his overall health, and the treatment plan. My father was diagnosed and had seed radiation therapy, around 20 years ago. He's 94 now.

Not exactly sure.
Wife is watching the pyramid show. Julie Bowen is on so I watch for a bit. She is giving hints to this guy, it is supposed to be in laws, she says I married my husband. He says divorce. I thought it may have been fairly inappropriate, but laughed.

For those that don’t remember she just divorced her husband.

I read Funke's book too...didn't believe that entirely either....Hugh Glass, although a tough SOB, probably embellished. How many times can you swim in the Missouri river in winter and not die of hypothermia?

Depends on where you swam it. I could swim across the Iowa river probably a good 10 times and be ok. If I could do it in my area.

I WISH I could find this video, but can't. My all-time favorite hint given in the bonus round...and the only hint given.

I caught parts of it last night and thought the same thing. How many times can you wear animal furs in freezing cold water and not end up a popsicle?

Daughter Alana (the pediatrician) told me a few years ago that the majority of American men who get prostate cancer usually end up dying of something else. It's not a fast-progressing cancer, as those things go.

The Revenant is a fantastic movie. This story has been told on film before in the 70s, a film called "Man in the WIlderness". Richard Harris starred. The story is basically true, although I'm sure both directors embellished it liberally, for dramatic effect.

But that scene where DeCaprio gets mauled by the bear will have you thinking it actually happened. Innaritu is a marvelous director.

The opening scene when they are attacked and he made it like one long take was beautiful.

We find the best deal is the giant sized box at Costco. Your price might be cheaper.

i'm limited in options in a town of a couple thousand. Dollar generals are everywhere. Get a box of 24, sometimes if I pay attention I can find boxes of 12 for 10% less and buy two of those. I figure if i left town to buy it would double the price with gas money and I'm cheap enough to not do that.

The local co-op had free coffee if you ventured in for a morning coffee crew but the manager wasn't keen on that so he basically booted everyone out.
