I spent all that time to get the Luther League flights there and back after being cancelled. One dad (split family) of two girls wasn't happy because they are landing 4 1/2 farther away. Was going on vacay SE and Cedar Rapids was on the way, MSP is the other direction. Well the mom decides she is going to see about changing tickets to get them closer. Asks price and finds out its too expensive for her and bails on the idea (this is what she says.) By the looks of it, her kids have NO tickets to return home.

I now get to wait an hour for American to call me back. She says it shouldn't be my mess to clean up, and asks if she should take care of it. I think, yeah, you should take care of it, but I also want everyone to make it home and not cost anybody anymore money. I have a feeling that I stand a better chance at meeting those goals than her. Will see what happens in an hour.

Am I high? Because none of this made sense to me.

What are your guys Torrence for going to the ER/Hospital?

I've been on mainly the wait until I am like pretty close to dying for the most part but my friends are a lot more lenient.

Assume no issues with medical expenses or insurance because I believe that'll skew you towards not going no matter what.

I only go if I have no other choice. I know the women (and many men) on this board will hate to hear that, but I just hate doctors.

I had a cracked tooth that caused an abscess that I put up with for about three months before I got so bad I had to go to the dentist. I was literally eating probably close to 50 ibuprofen per day with it, typically 9 or 10 at a time. It also doesn’t help that I have a really high pain tolerance.

That said, don’t do what I do. Listen to what I’m going to assume the women of the board will tell you, because they’re right. Go to the doctor.

I'm a wait till later type of guy as well. It would need to be pretty extreme for me to go to the emergency room.

Kinda continuation of another post. Mom gets involved to help out her ex to see if she can get her kids a cheap flight to see their dad, since it would just be a change since the the church has a pretty hefty ticket already paid for and nearly strands her kids in Houston. Got them back on our plane with no damage done just spending my time.

I know when I have a sinus infection and will go for those when I can tell I can’t control on my own. I avoid going. I cut my arm about 10years ago and wondered if I could butterfly or sterisrip it together. Went to the hospital and they gave me 40 stitches.

Assuming you aren't talking M-F doctor appointments but after hours/weekend stuff. Bleeding a lot would be a good ER run as would "I might be having a stroke or heart attack" stuff.

Been to the ER once in 66 years for me. Was watching the ISU game on TV with a friend and the suddenly the screen looked a lot this below...started as a small spot and started growing. Freaked me out. Within a minute or so I could not see the TV at all.

On the way to ER started seeing **** like this. Buddy drove, there was no way I could have driven myself.

Went away within an hour or so and diagnosed as some sort of weird ocular disruption or visual migraine. Cleared enough that I watched the end of the game in a little ER bed. Thought my brain had exploded so worth a trip to ER.

correct thread this time

So yesterday. We were told they were having cake for a company milestone. Yay, cake! I love cake! I put off getting some until reading some very bad news in the afternoon and decide cake will help. I go to get it and discover it's all chocolate cake. All of it. FYI, I do not like chocolate baked goods. At all. So now I'm super annoyed because who gets like, six cakes and makes them all chocolate?! You at least get marble in there to satisfy the masses. So I angrily leave without cake.

Today they announce there is more cake for something else. Yay, cake!

This cake has chocolate frosting with a chocolate filling

I feel like I'm being blue balled by these cake emails.
You women talk about how much pain it is to give birth. You have no idea how uncomfortable blue balls make you. The pain is real!

I am persona non grata because my entire nuclear family (parents and siblings, plus many aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) lives in Sconnie. I am the alien.
Are you afraid you'd get murdered if you visited them or are you afraid you'd get arrested on trumped-up charges?

Sorry, boo - I got a full "hyzzie" (it's what I've decided the kids should start calling hysterectomies). I haven't been super-vocal about it all around, I"m sorry if I seemed evasive!
Take care of yourself. Get some rest these next few weeks. The neighbor lady across the street recently had one. She seemed pretty uncomfortable for a month or two but seems to be all better now.

Question for you Iowans. I am pushing 50 years removed from HS and didn't have kids and moved away a hundred years ago. Do junior high/high school kids still read stuff like 1984, Animal Farm, Watership Down, and Enemy of the People and the like or have these all got "Fahrenheit 451" treatment?
