I had a young teacher and I'm positive, now, that she was hung over that day.
My English teacher used to come in hung over and she wasn't all that young, her daughter was a year or two behind me. Same teacher was having an affair with the house master. Came back from lunch with a hickey. She wore a scarf the rest of the week.

Housemaster? Where did you go to school? Hogwarts?

Just saw Julie Bowen is single again. So is Jennifer Anniston, but Julie seems more my type.

Is she in your happy place?

I very rarely used my locker for anything in HS. Middle school everything was more concentrated (6th had one side of the building, 7th was upstairs an 8th had the other side) other than art, gym, band and choir so they were used quite a bit.

Daughter will wear a coat most cold days, but no one uses their lockers. Hers is upstairs in a corner and when it is time to catch the bus she doesn't always have time to run up to get it then down to the band room to grab her instrument and then out to the bus on time. So I think she usually keeps her coat in her girls' locker room locker.

They do say it is "safe" to keep things in your locker because they have hallway cameras if anything was ever stolen. But I think the majority of kids carry their full backpack to each class. One thing that is different is most textbooks are optional now, so they aren't carrying around a ton of books. Texts are either online or teachers don't use them. She decided to get the algebra textbook and the science textbook, but she keeps them at home.
My HS kids only use their lockers if they have a project they can't turn in until late in the day.

Our high school had a little over 2,000 students. When I started eighth grade we were on double sessions while the new school was being built. Eighth grade and freshman went from 1pm - 5:30 pm. Sophomores - Seniors went from 8am through 12:30.
When the new high school was built they divided it into 4 houses each with its own housemaster and then there was one head master over all.

One of the house masters name was Mr. Abate. So he was referred to as Master Abate. Not making that up.

We finished Waco last night. I thought it was really well done and informative. Based off of what I have read/seen elsewhere they stuck pretty well to the facts and real story. One thing that was kind of a dumb/not well thought out was one of the last scenes showed one of the head FBI guys trying to help some women that were trapped under something get out. He couldn't do it on his own so he was yelling for help that never came because presumably no one could hear him over the fire. Nevermind the fact he had a radio on him that he used a few scenes earlier...
