Story of the day:

Got a video tour of DH's hotel room, even got to see the very green park area across from his room and the little moped things and rickshaw type things in the street (this was technically like midnight last night here). His flight out of London got delayed 2 hours because of the snow. But the seat was comfy he said.

Talked to him this morning before he went to bed (night there, it' so weird) and then went shopping. That was a bust so I ended up stopping at a fancy cupcake place I've always wanted to try and got a cupcake. I only took one bite because I'm keeping it for tomorrow but I think this was a solid purchase.

Going to my last place to return something and it's a four-way stop. I stop, and then start going because I was there first. I notice the car in the left of the four-way (where I was turning to) has Hok plates. Ha. Then notice that even though I am firmly committed and am already turning, they didn't stop and notice me at all and are pulling out. ******* hok damn near hit my car. I don't think he even noticed me until our driver's windows were parallel. Hoks suck.

Did grocery shopping on the way home. Papaya was on sale so I decided to try buying one. They are huge, didn't realize that. No idea how you cut it but I'll find out. DH is like shop on the outsides of the store. Lucky for me, ice cream is on the far outside wall :D

Now watching a show about a girl abducted from her bedroom and nearly killed. This is a poor choice.

@BoxsterCy , WBB officially over for ISU lost by 12 to Texas, 2nd qtr killed them. Minn. lost to Ohio State by 2 in a entertaining game.

Oh yes, forgot a part. So somehow, the hotel rooms weren't paid by someone ahead of time so dh is like I'm putting this on our card. I find that super amateur. I told him what if you couldn't do that? Said they better have it figured out when they switch hotels later this week.

Good to be home, kinda, maybe. Well, except for the driveway full of snow that my ******* neighbors behind me just drove all over for the last week and made into a compacted mess of frozen rutted ice and slush. God they are such dicks.

Neighbors in front, who i asked to grab my papers were nice enough to shovel my walk. Cool. Not everyone is an *******, just maybe like 40% of the population.

So opened a bottle of wine and drinking liberally.

Quiet here. My day started by finding and opening a huge box of Thomas the Train engines and tracks that I git for my 2-year old, but forgot to give it to him for Christmas. First thing he did all morning and did not want take a break from playing to eat breakfast until about 11am.

Wife stopped working Saturdays, so that helps with Saturday plans. She went to the gym at 10am and then took my oldest to swim lessons at 12:45. Youngest still playing trains.

Wife and son came back from swim lessons with lunch and we ate. I did dishes from earlier in the morning, Youngest had to be pulled away from his trains to take his nap and I decided it was a good time for a nap for me as well. Woke up, youngest already up and playing trains again.

Got my bag, paddles cleaned up, etc and headed over to the Table Tennis club (my oldest was supposed to go with me, but he changed his mind when he found out wife and youngest were going to the mall). I played for 3 hours (got my ass handed to me) and came back home. Wife and kids came back and I decided to watch the boxing fight since it was late and they were soon going to bed.

To my surprise, I finished watching the fight around 10:45pm and I heard some noise downstairs. You guessed it. Someone snuck out of his room and came out to play trains again. His bedtime is 9:00pm, so my wife took him to the room with her this time to make sure he actually sleeps.

At this point, I'm 200% certain that when I wake up, he will be up already playing with his trains.

Lesson, Thomas the Train FTW.

Also, I am guessing getting it NOT at Christmas rules.

Husband likes to tell the story of how the ISU pep band/cheer squad/etc. showed up in Detroit at the Embassy Suites in '96 for the tournament. The front desk asks how they're going to pay for this. This should have already been taken care of between the athletic dept and the NCAA and other powers that be. An NCAA official shows up, things are discussed. The resolution is that everyone gets their own suite, not two to a room as usual.

It's standard practice when travelling on business to pay your hotel and be reimbursed after you submit your expenses.

Sounds like March is going to do it's lion thing tomorrow in northern half of Minnesota. Should have stayed in Mexico another week. Acquaintance I know from going down there over the years was renting his villa for this week. Didn't know till Friday night and by then it was too late to set up. Plus I didn't need a whole two bedroom villa for myself.

Just watched "Get Out" That was interesting.

In the first half hour I kept wondering how that girl couldn't see that her family was a bunch of weirdos. Then that party started and after a while I started thinking she had to be in on whatever was going on. No one could be that dense about their family and friends

Roger Bannister died. Might be the only one here who had ever heard of him but was a big deal in the 1950's. Remember reading his book as little boy Boxster.
