Anyone in the Des Moines area that is not attending the MBB game ISU Commit Lexi Donarski's Aquinos Team is playing at Dowling today (2/10/18) at 1 pm against Caitlin Clark's Dowling team. Should be a really good game and a great measuring stick for Donarski as Clark is rated as the best player in her class.

Was a GREAT game in WDM this afternoon with Aquinas pulling out a 2 point win. Aquinas controlled most of the game but Dowling made a big push in the 4th but could never get over the top. It came down to a Clark 3 at the buzzer that did not fall.

Donarski was really good with putting up about 22 or so including a big time step back three when they were up 1 with around a minute to go. Showed ability to score at all three levels, will only get better with adding some size and strength. Clark was good also with putting up 29, but took quite a few more shots than Donarski. The Aquinas team has more options than Dowling but the Maroons really battled. Was a really fun High School game to watch.

what is awesome to see is the Lexi can already finish going to the left with her left hand.

Thanks for the information!

By some, number 1 recruit Clark to Iowa State? As more bigs seem to go to Volleyball, guard play may be pushed to be more important in D-1 ball. Do we have a shot at Clark. Be great to see her come here to play following in the recent footsteps of Joens, Donarski.

I can't figure Donarski's skill level out. Last year I watched Lexi lead her team in a near win in the WI State Championship. She is considered a future Wisconsin's Miss Basketball and wows people as an underclass player.

But I have yet to see her ranked on a recruiting service. Feel committing to Iowa State has got her on the "ignore" list by ranking services. That, and more likely, she is an underclass from a private program.

Donarski does not play on any of the "elite" name AAU programs so the people that do the rankings likely have not seen her.

Committing early in many respects takes you off the radar on most recruiting services, IMO.

To be fair, Prospectsnation and ESPN Hoopgurlz only has the top 25 out for 2020, and they are very similar lists.

Everyone is looking to land her. I haven't seen that she's tipped her hand at all. She's said she's not in a hurry to make a choice; given the options she'll have, that seems like a smart attitude.

I forget where she said it, but she said she wasn't even going to think about recruiting or visits etc., until this basketball season was over.
