Years ago the Register did a poll of what the fan bases wanted for Christmas /New Years. Iowa fans biggest answer was to win games, ISU’s was for James Pollard to get out of Blanks and be healthy.

I just don't understand why anyone would bring something like into a rivalry? It's a nice gesture on their part. Leave it at that. Iowa State has been doing the kid captain thing for a while now; I've never heard one ISU fan bring that into smack talk. It's one thing to smack talk with a rival, but it's downright low to bring sick children into it.
