I'd like to see those highlights. Peavy has been very good for two years now.

I'm still VERY skeptical of the OL. There's really only one guy there that has proven they can play at this level, and he's coming off of a bad injury.
Garcia starting? 281 lbs is a bit small. I thought he could make a good backup, but as a starter, that's a much bigger ask IMO. I hope he's the real deal.
Meeker playing tackle, when he played guard mostly last year is another question too. And the depth in the two deeps isn't the greatest either.
I guess I'm just skeptical every year of our OL until I see it perform for good reason. It hasn't been good for a LONG time. If we can push UNI up and down the field in week one, then maybe I'll start believing. I pray we all see that.
Speaking of depth, I'd love to see CMC's 3 deep or 4 deep depth chart right now. That would really be intriguing to me. Would anyone want to give it their best guess??

I'm 5'6" myself. I know from personal experience us small guys play with a chip on our shoulder. That being said, I would have been a better player with a little more size. You're not gonna win any jump balls with 6'4" receivers.
Have no idea what heck u are talking about..JGJ and Meeker both played all season and every game. Meeker got better as year went on as freshman btw. Meeker is now 310 lbs and by all accounts had a huge spring. Not saying the OL might have its growing pains early but to say Campos is the only one with exp is simply inaccurate.
Edit: Garcia isnt 281 lbs..the weights are not correct on depth chart. CMC said today Matt Leo is 290 as is Eyioma. I"d be money Garcia comes into Camp around 295...
I hope he's 185.. 165 would probably make him the smallest player in the entire Big 12..
Rest of the defense has great height and weight.

Didn't he have the best incompletion percentage when thrown to last year? I may be off on the exact stat but I'm pretty sure theres data out there that supports where you're coming from on this.
I'm a little surprsied this thread isnt at the top every day. Just got first depth chart with some interesting things. I find it humerous that CMC was asked which position group he feels good about and he mentions LB position..haha. A lot of fans have been in panic mode over our LB's. Think about it we have 2 new starters in Lanning and now Spears and Harvey is listed as pre season HM all conf. Not to mention 2 frosh LB's coming who look the part. Add in Tymar Sutton who by all accounts would have played last year as a true frosh had he not broke his hand. We basically will have 3-4 new LB's playing that didnt last year. Which is a good thing.
Disagree with a lot of your commentary here.... To start Northrup was not the problem with the defense last year at all, it was more the DL especially interior being horrendous.... Very tough for the second line to even have a chance to act on a play when OL is right there to the second level with no problem.... Tucker and Thomas had moments but there was very little depth there for the full year.....
Also the Peavy comment is completely false, both him and Payne were second and third in the conference last year in the pass breakup category. I think the height does come into play but the comment of chasing receivers is especially with the comment of 'a lot'.....
The panic over this group is based on last year, which the primary problem last year was no depth as well as not a good run defense DL, which exposed the lack of depth in LB corp and puts them on skates a lot of the second halves of games.....
If anything, I think he was probably hustling to chase down receivers who beat some other defender and was running in for a score.

I think the concern is the lack of size and experience. Klein, Knott, & Jeremiah Jones set a helluva standard that has fallen quite short the last few seasons. If you look around the league, most inside linebackers are still between 230-240 lbs. There's a correlation between bulk and the ability to absorb/shed lead blockers. I also don't know how anyone wouldn't be nervous about last year's starting quarterback winning the starting MLB job. If anyone can pull it off however, it's Joel. I'm rooting for him, but I expect some struggles early on.
Exactly this. The Baylor game stands out. The DL was getting blown off of the ball late and the LB's had that big RB running downhill on them every play.
It's definitely concerning, but I wouldn't read into those roster weights if I were you. I'd be willing to bet that Harvey, Spears and Lanning are all at least 5-10 lbs heavier than what it says based off of the weights Campbell mentioned yesterday for other guys.I'll talk depth chart with you, @Beyerball

I'm guessing that the weights listed now are ones taken from beginning of summer.
There are a lot of highlights against our defense period. Don't think Peavy is the only one that made mistakes.
I have not been very impressed but the new players plus spears is starting to get me excited for the season. Our defence could be really good next year if they are not over hyped right now.
