Random stories for the day:

Booking car for UK through a Scottish-based company. I forwarded the quote info to Dh and DH is like "is this guy's name really William Wallace?"

Yes, yes it is. DH had a good laugh.

Spring election here today and I tried to commit election fraud. Several no-contest votes right in a row and I accidentally marked both the circle for the candidate's name and the 'write-in' underneath for one even though I didn't write in a name. Had to do a second ballot. I expect Walker will use this as evidence for requiring a drug test prior to voting now as well.

got a 700 page and 1000 page books to read within the next 40 days. Dh says I'll never get them done cause it took me about 30 days to read the 600 page Scottish history book. First one is History of the World in 100 Objects - goes along with British Museum exhibits. Second book is a history of England. I started the 100 objects today and got the intro and first 3 objects read. I'll show DH! Ha.

Have you or @WooClone15 or anyone else seen the Wis DOT video shared on Facebook?

sadly even though I have that card, it won't be used. Be a Capital One. Marauding Vikings are close enough. Actually probably spot on, according to my Scots history lesson. Pretty much all the Picts were killed by invading Vikings. The Scots are mostly Viking-descendants.

I fell asleep reading about you reading those books.

I'm going to be an educated tourist! Also, I think the 100 objects book is cool. Give more meaning to wandering around a giant museum if I actually understand the historical context of some of the stuff beyond the obvious.

But yes, I can feel your enthusiasm. It about matches DH's when I pointed out last night that we are going to spend like, every moment together for three weeks. Every. Moment. And then did the little Isla Fisher Wedding Crashers' smile

When PapaLew is harassing me or teasing me and I respond, he is now delighting in reminding me "three years...and it will be 24/7. 24/7...just think about it!"

This is why I actively encouraged the building of the Garagemahal. I was definitely thinking ahead to getting him out of my hair part of the time.

And I'm not even going to tease you about reading up on things before you go. I think it's a great idea. We had a walking talking encyclopedia with us at many of the sites we visited over there - my father.

Going to drive over to the USFWS refuge by the airport and get a Senior Pass to national parks and stuff. $10 for life.* And, no, you cannot have one, not even KC is old enough.

* Probably counting on me dying before I use it much.
We've already talked about it. Our retired pastor & his wife have spent most of the last ten years in their motor home, touring all of the national parks in the country. We plan to emulate them. :)
