I don't care where the hell it was on the court that was awful. It wasn't like it was really controversial or anything. My dad an Iowa fan agreed it was awful.

Edit: I'd give it a pass if it was a normal signal but it was obviously playing to the crowd with how it was signaled.
You're missing the point. It wasn't controversial and you don't want to make it controversial by having the officials signal two separate things. That's an example of good officiating.

And referees aren't robots...they feel emotion during the game. I'm sure you don't mind when we get fouled, the shot goes down and there's a more emphatic signal to count the basket.

Its unfathomable to me that someone would cry about how an infraction is signaled.

Foul differential was 9... pretty large margin. Not saying thats why we lost, but we got no help either. Also doesn't help that we settled for 19' fadeways all night.

We probably had 6 or 7 in the last two minutes.

I will also never understand why the fouls for each team should be about even at the end of the game or the referees did a poor job.

There was also a time when the ball that went out of bounds off us (correct call - not arguing) where the ref made a really over-the-top signal. I was mad at our play at the time so I was a little more sensitive than normal, but it felt like he was a heel at a wrestling match goading the crowd.

You're the one missing the point. It shows that they are partial to the game. If they have to conference fine. Make a simple signal showing the call. He looked like John Cena trying to get the crowd going at a WWE event.

Most times when there are more emphatic calls (I don't like it anymore then) they are bang bang plays and they are trying to make it clear what they are calling. They aren't way after the play.

Thry handled it correctly. It boils down to the infraction occurred right on the edge of both of their "zones" on the floor. They both blew their whistles to signal said infraction. Instead of one whistling block and one whistling charge they deferred the call to the other thinking the other was the official for that zone. Yes it was an awkward 3 seconds waiting but it was done correctly so you don't piss off everyone involved.
They didn't handle it correctly. The player came down the middle of lane. That is the leads call or the one under the basket. If it would have come from C side t

It wasn't done correctly. The player came down the middle of the lane. So it should be the lead or the official on the base line. That is to make the call. If it comes from the C side then he has it. They all 3 raised there arm to call the foul. The lead should make the call. Because he did raise his arm. The others were waiting on him. You don't want to signal at same time or you get the barge call. Then both players get a foul. The trail made the call and he was in the worst position to make the call. I am not saying it wasn't a charge. They sure didn't handle it correctly for college officials.

I don't know if anyone else noticed but the officials were playing into the crowd really bad last night. One case in particular and I don't remember who it was but we committed a charge and it was the right call but the official waited at least 10-15 seconds without making a call and then made one of the more emphatic calls I've seen. We played like **** but that doesn't excuse the officials from last night.

I was bored on my drive the other night and listened to Creighton/Nebraska for a while. The Nebraska commentary guys basically blatantly pointed out that Eades is the worst official who regularly works their games.

It's probably sour grapes bringing it up after a loss, but the guy is bad at his job beyond just ISU games.

Eades has had issues, but our % on uncontested 3s was the difference.

The main problem is that officials are independent contractors, free to schedule as much as they want. That leads to guys in their 50s and 60s jetting all over the country doing 4-5 games per week. By late January/early February, they're fried.

It's a lot of the reason that CBB fans can name officials on sight -- because they see them on TV almost every night.
