****Official Class of 2017 Recruiting Thread****

Give me Teddy Allen along with what you listed and that's the class I want.
I agree Allen would be great. However, I doubt they sign more than 3 or 4 freshmen at the most. They'll want 2 or 3 JuCo's or transfers to balance out the classes a little better. Otherwise if you sign 5-6 freshmen, then in 4 years you could be looking at another class size of 6, which they probably want to avoid.

Not sure we'd sign 5 high school, if Lewis commits tomorrow he drops down the priority list quite a bit. I'd rather take the JUCO Davion Cole-Johnson who would also be a SF.

If we signed 5-6, 2-3 wouldn't be here all 4 years.

I don't think they care whether there is a large class to fill or not. This can happen whether it's high school or some Juco/transfers in a couple years. It's more important that they balance who they think can have an immediate impact vs needs development prior to getting high rotation minutes or starting.

There is attrition every year so I would not get too hung up on having a class full of freshmen.

Hopefully Kassongo transfers out after this year to give us more flexibility. It won't happen but one can dream.

I think what gets lost sometimes is that not all 13 roster spots are going to be filled with starting caliber players. Guys who are fine with coming off the bench for a couple years are invaluable. The one thing we have not had recently is good backup big options. I think how valuable Edozie would have been to have last year. Honestly, all we need is Kassongo (sp?) to be at that level and give us 10 minutes/game off the bench of solid defense and screen setting on offense and to me, that is worth a scholarship for a few years.

His size will be very handy to have for a couple years. Plus, one could always hope he develops further.

“I haven’t decided on anything yet and I’m still open,” Joiner said when asked about his recruitment status. “I’m going to cut my list in a few weeks and I plan on taking my visits afterwards,” Joiner said. “I’m going to make my decision before my senior year starts which is around the late October/early November time period,” Joiner added.
