Something to make some of you smile on "almost Friday". My favorite is the little monkey in the middle clinging to a stuffed toy.

Wasn't that one a full grown chimp? I'd be afraid of that critter. The little hedgehog just floating in the sink was pretty cool. I was surprised how many dogs were loving their bath time.

That seems like an awful lot to count as watering. I would thing a 1/4" (maybe a 1/2") of rain should be enough to be considered a good watering. N-dubs, BC and GR8 probably know more than me about this though. We've got boys playing football, baseball or soccer in the backyard and girls doing there thing in the front yard almost constantly so my yard generally looks pretty rough compared to a lot of houses.

An easier way to handle the watering is get some old 5 gal buckets and cut dime sized holes in the bottom. Put them right next to the tree, bush, shrub what have you. Fill it with water and let it soak in. Move them around as needed.

I use chili sauce instead of ketchup.

I'm assuming you also use catsup instead of ketchup in your sloppy joe recipe.
It's better with catsup than ketchup. Also, I don't use either in my sloppy joes. Also, also, you use catsup in your sloppy joes?

All this use of the word "joes" really makes me want a Happy Joe's taco pizza.

That was a chimp in the bubble bath. The little monkey was just before him, clinging to a turquoise dog(?), being washed using the sink faucet.

yeah that's for the new plants and shrub stuff. Seemed like a lot to me too.
I'm far from an expert but the reason they mention 1 inch of rain is you want the new roots to start growing down to create a better root system so you need to get the moisture really deep. If there is only surface moisture the roots will be really shallow. BCC's bucket idea sounds like a pretty good trick.

I just wish my neighbors would do something about their yard. It is nothing but dandelions so keeping my yard clear is pretty much a losing battle. I did a whole lot of spraying Monday to try to kill the ones in my yard.

As your yard fills in and you start fighting dandelions, remember that there are really only two ways to fight them.

1. Have a thick, full yard of grass so that there's little room for the dandelions to grow.
2. Use chemicals.

was going to screenshot my fitbit sleep stuff but there are a lot of screens. It automatically tracks your sleep (based on movement, so yes, it will pick up naps too) and then tracks restless/awake minutes as well. You can look at that over time to see if there is a pattern on how much or when you are restless and such.
